Elly grew up in the village of Ravenlock (not associated with any particular village about this region) having been taken in by a caring family. She had a mother, father, older brother, and cousin living with her. She was raised as the only woman, and took pride in being treated often times no different than the boys, sometimes worse. It seemed like it might be a bit cruel when she was put to work in the fields or forced to do more than her share of work, but Elle found it a delight and was greatful that they were so tough on her. From an early age, she knew she was different than most people would let on, however she never attuned herself to finding out what it was that set her apart from the rest. When she was about 13 years old, her "older brother" started to come onto her one day while she was picking some of the wheat in the field. Completely shocked and disgusted she ran to her family (parents) and requested that they do something about it. The mother quickly took her side while her father told her she was being foolish and things of that nature were normal, even if it was from your own family members. Torn by the issue, she packed everything she had and left a single note explaining that she would be leaving the village. From then on, she was a traveler. She learned the ins and outs of most villages, and for a time even took refuge in a village just north of her home. Now she finds herself in the Sanctuary, where she intends on staying for some time to come.
