Acrid Time

Hot time crawls under my skin. Too many, have I had to bury The sorrow runs down my cheeks Acrid on my lips when I try to breath. Who was it I let go of today? The pain adopts one face after this long How is it that I will open my eyes tomorrow? That space, now an empty vapor, extinguished by My mind eternal Oh unending time, It cruelly thrusts out ahead of Us, churning in spite of what it has done. So many in pursuit of this child of creation What has it ever given back? Time only takes, consumes, decays The world's masses covet this elusive prize. This belligerent and mindless thing It has been written that time waits for no one, but It is written wrong Time lays in wait for us all
