A Massachusetts liberal, I was born and raised in this great state. I graduated from the University of Massachussetts-Amherst with a B.A. in History. Currently, I work in health care and soon will move on to get an MBA. I've been a liberal all my life and I am very proud to call myself one. I may not be as liberal as some others but, nonetheless, am a true Liberal. I would say I am left of John Kerry but right of Dennis Kucinich. In my free time, I like to save whales, fight globalization, be a vegetarian, and laugh at FOX news. More importantly, I feel that protecting the enivronment, citizen's health, and promoting social responsibility are some of the most important things to fight forr. Sometimes I can be very moderate on an issue but I'm a tree hugger, and will be a liberal til I die. My hope is that HALT/HART will help bridge the divide between left and right and create open dialogue between both sides so we can get to the work of making America even better than it already is. Hopefully, Reason will prevail, because as Robert Reich says, Reason is why liberals will win the battle for America! |

During my childhood, I learned early on the value of a hard day's work.
the belief that all people can achieve by getting their hands dirty and sacrificing
was shaped mostly by my father, and has become a conviction now that I am an adult.
Growing up in Texas, I was surrounded by faith, family, and love. Those three things I
have carried on to my own family and strive to instill in my son.
I have been conservative all of my life, and have always been proud of my faith in God
as well as my love for my country. However, I pride myself on finding out the facts before
making a decision when it comes to political issues. I support the War on Terror and
George W. Bush without shame, though I tend to disagree with some aspects of his
administration. In my free time, I enjoy listening to Rush Limbaugh, burning Dixie Chicks cds,
and driving around in my SUV. I also tend to use my sense of humor to convey my thoughts,
with an occassional hint of sarcasm. I believe that through honest and respectful communication,
all of us can make a difference. My hope is that we, as the creators of HALT/HART, will be a living
example and help put an end to petty politics.
