Drawn in 1999. According to Greek Mythology Persephone was planting flowers in her mother's garden when she was abducted by Hades and taken to the underworld. Her mother  Demeter, who was the Goddess of the Earth became stricken with grief and anger let the Earth and mortal man suffer until her daughter was found. Persephone refused to eat but 6 pomegranite seeds during this time. Pitied by the Gods as mortal man cried out in hunger the Gods made a deal with Hades and Persephone was allowed to return to the surface world for six months of the year marking the spring and summer months as flowers and crops flourished. When she returned to the underworld, the Earth became barren and desolate as the leaves fell and crops died marking the fall and winter months. The Centaur is Hermes in disguise. The great deceiver transported all between Earth and the underworld. He amongst other Titans and Gods were smitten with persephone.
