We need more volunteers.

e)                  Kim Eatmon

Kim is working on CCAE awards for classified and certificated members based on monthly input. CCAE will nominate the deserving persons.  CCAE President stated that it is a good idea to recognize outstanding members monthly. Awards committee will need to set a criterion for the recipient of the award. A suggestion box in the staff lounge is being considered. CCAE will present a plaque or certificate to honor a classified and certificated member monthly.

The chapter needs to submit nominees for the Southern Section Conference.  Suggestions should be in by October 15, 2005.

V         Old Business:

Glenda Lopez inquired if we could set aside funds for staff whom want to go to conferences. Classified staff should also have a chance to go to conferences.

Discussion ensued on who and how this would work. Subject was tabled until further investigation. Annette Beck and Glenda Lopez will see how other chapters support conferences.

VI        New  Business:

a)      Section Conference:

Dates  -  November 18, 19, 20, 2005

The Southern Section and South Coast Section will co-host the conference in Palm Springs at Wyndham Hotel.  Janice Roselius is working with South Coast Section on presenters. Since this is a joint conference with South Coast Section, she strongly urged previous presenters to volunteer.

b)      Teresa Loftis is doing the web page for CCAE. Annette Beck thanked her for the outstanding job she is doing; constructing and maintaining the CCAE chapter website.

c)      Al Zaragoza inquired about the traditional fall potluck.  The date was set for October 21st. Discussion in regards to people giving money over food ensued. We’d rather that you bring food. This will be a Halloween potluck for both lunches.

Winner of the Opportunity drawing:  Lorrie Christie

Congratulations to the lucky CCAE members!
