Picture Your Imagination!

Target Audience:

8^th-11^th Grades

Curricular Objectives:

1. To develop the writing skills.

1. To be able to participate effectively in small group discussions.

Specific Objectives:

1. To help students use their imagination to complete a given image through writing short compositions.

3. To help students express their ideas through writing meaningful grammatical sentences.

5. To help students use punctuation marks correctly.
6. 4. To collaborate sharing ideas, comments and experience.

   5. To employ technology in sharing ideas and knowledge, i.e. to use e-mail.

   Activities:

   - Students are provided with two images; one at a month.

   -Teacher gives clear written instructions to students on how to use Internet skills.

   -Teacher distributes handouts including the tasks of each group.

   -Students are given a part of an image, asked to comment on it regarding its components and then they are asked to think of the missing parts.

   -Students imagine the whole context of the original image.

   -Students write a description of the image and exchange their compositions by email.

   - Teacher provides the students with the whole image.

   NOTE:

   Students should cc their e-mails to their teachers (Lamia’, Sana, and Eman).

   Extension Activities:

• Students can create a short story containing the image they have already described.

• Students write critiques about what their peer groups have written about the same image.
