General Rogue Spear Team Ladder Rules:

Beginning: When you join the ladder, you are put into the "Unranked" pool. Everyone within the pool has a rank of zero, no matter what their Wins/Losses look like.

Getting Ranked: In order to get out of the "Not Ranked" pool, you must win a game. It doesn't matter who you beat, they can be ranked #1, #38, or they can be a fellow member of the "Not Ranked" pool. When you get that first win, you are automatically placed on the very bottom rung of the ladder. So if there were 50 ranked players when you got your first win, you are ranked #51. Again, it doesn't matter who you beat, your first win only pulls you out of the "Not Ranked" pool and onto the bottom rung of the ladder.

Ranking: Once you are out of the "Unranked" pool and have a rank on the ladder, new rules apply. From here on out, the following rules apply to you.

Play often! Losses do not count against you 99% of the time!

The only way a loss can hurt you is if the person you lose to is ranked DIRECTLY below you on the ladder. For instance, if you are ranked #50 and you lose to #51, essentially the two of you swap ranks, and you are now ranked #51.

When you beat a person ranked higher than you, you will move up the ladder half the distance between your current position and the current position of the player you beat. Example: #100 beats #50. #100 will now be ranked #75, since half the distance between 50 and 100 is 75. If half the distance between you and your opponent is a .5 decimal (i.e. 72.5) your rank is rounded down. Example: #101 beats #50. #101 will now be ranked #75, since half the distance between 50 and 100 is 75.5 and we round down to 75. When someone moves up the ladder in either of these fashions, everyone between his new and old position on the ladder will all move down one rung. So in our first example, the ranks 75 - 99 would move down one rung to make room for him at the #75 position.

Game Rules:

A match will consist of the best of 5 maps, with the best of 5 games per map. To win a map, a team must have 3 victories on that map; a victory is indicated with “Mission Success” in the team results screen. To win a match, a team must win 3 maps. A shorter match may be played, consisting of the best of 3 maps, if both teams agree. If agreement is not made, the best of 5 maps is the default. At the conclusion of a match, the losing team/player must report immediately. If we have problems with someone not reporting, they will be removed from the ladder.

Game Settings:
    -Type:
        Adversarial
    -Rules:        Team Survival
    -Insertions: Random
    -Length:      5:00
    -Blue:          Blue Medium
    -Gold:          Desert Medium

ALL TEAM GAMES Must have the minimum over 2 players per team and must match the opposing sides number of player. No 2 vs 3, 4 vs 3, etc. - Unless drop rule takes affect.

Mods are allowed in a match ONLY if both teams agree to use them. If an agreement cannot be made, the use of mods will NOT be used in the match.

The team with the lower rank (i.e., higher on the ladder) picks the first map played and the higher ranked team (i.e., lower on the ladder) picks the team color for the first map. The roles then alternate, with the lower rank picking color for the second map and the higher rank picking the second map, and so forth and so on. The team with the better rank will always get to chose more maps (i.e., out of 5 maps, they pick 3).  [For clarification purposes, a lower rank would be team ranked #1 and a higher rank would be team ranked #100]

No clan may pick the same map more then 2 times in a game unless both teams agree.

Home team is the higher ranked team and picks the first 1, 3, 5. or if 3 games are play home team picks 1, 3 maps.

Teams are allowed to alternate hosting, but the hosts should have at LEAST a cable modem. If a last and deciding map is required in the match, a neutral host may be used.

Modified crosshairs are allowed to be used by players (i.e., the actual image seen on the screen). An example would be using a dot as opposed to the standard type crosshair.

Modified skins or ACID skins is forbidden and is considered cheating.

The use of scabs is NOT allowed. A scab is a player that is NOT on the team roster. Please check your roster on the clan database and be sure it is up to date.

During the course of a match, an infinite number of player substitutions is allowed.

DROP RULE - If a player disconnects during the loading phase of a game or within 10 seconds of the start, the game is null and void. If a player disconnects after 10 seconds, he is considered killed in action.

If a player is stuck during a game (such as on a ladder or cannot switch to gun), the game is aborted, but players already dead will not play in the next game.

If the server crashes during a game, the game is considered a redo when the play resumes (i.e., no players are dead, no score).

The modification of files that regulate player skill (e.g. constants.txt) is strictly prohibited.

During the course of a match, a team is allowed to pick the same map more than once.

Postponement of Matches is not allowed at all. Once the first game is played, that constitutes the beginning of the match. Leaving the match will be an automatic forfeit. I suggest all clans to make sure all players can finish the match before playing.

Use of Voice Communication Programs are allowed and encouraged for team play. We ask all clans to please notify your opponent of use of such programs.

Inactivity & Removal: We will not tolerate inactivity on our ladder, and the higher ranked you are, the more we expect of you. For EVERYONE on the ladder, if you have not played a game for a period of 21 days, you will be deleted from the ladder. The Top 10 must play at least 4 games per week. 1 should be a challenge system match. Infractions within the Top 10 will result in losing 5 positions on the ladder. Note: If you do not play a game within 7 days of joining the ladder, you will be deleted.

At anytime, you want to leave the ladder, just use the troubleshooter and supply us your ID, Callsign, E-mail, Password and a short reason. We will remove you ASAP.

Conduct:

All Unsportmanlike conduct must be referred to that services police system (sysops/hosts). We are not police officers of any multiplayer service and we can not control people. How ever, if someone writes bad words, bad user names etc. on our ladder, action will be taken to be deleted.

Any defamatory remarks towards any admin can result in action, no matter where it is. We are working hard for you we do not need bad mouthing. If you have a problem e-mail the troubleshooter.

We cannot control in-game conduct, but we do not want you to be subjected to bad conduct by other clans. If a clan is acting with bad sportsmanship, please take screenshots and send them to a ladder admin after the game is played. The game still does count. If we find them acting wrong, we can tell you to avoid them on the ladder for a period of time where you don't have to play them again.

Unsportmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Numerous complaints of harassment/unsportmanlike conduct will result in removal from ladder.

Challenges/ Scheduling Matches: Challenges can be issued from anyone to anyone at anytime with one exception that I will talk about later. All challenges do not have to be accepted however. The only Challenges that MUST be accepted are by players ranked within 10 rungs of you either up or down. So #20 would have to accept challenges from anyone #10 - #30. If you get multiple challenges from within the range of people that you must play, you do not have to accept them all.

If you are in challenge negations with any clan, you may not play any clan ranked lower. Therefore if you are the number 1 clan and were challenged by the number 2 clan, you must play that match first before any other matches. This rule will be strictly enforced.

However, if you wish to play a match that does not affect the rankings of the clan you are being challenged by, you may.

The is no 2 week rule reguarding playing clans in the top 50.

Each week begins on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday. The scheduling below is based on the games the end each week. Not the games during the week where clans gain and lose spots.

Example. Sunday morning. Bob is 1. Joe clan is 2. Ralf is 3., Mike Clan is 4. Vixy is 5.

Tournament Play: Vixy plays Rank 6 before 4, Mike at Rank 4 Plays Vixy at Rank 5 before Ralf at Rank 3, Ralf at Rank 3 Plays Mike 4 before Joe at Rank 2 and Joe at Rank 2 plays Ralf 3 before Bob at Rank 1

Ranked #1: Once your rank is defended during tournament play, you may play anyone!

Ranked #2 - 5. Once your rank is defended during tournament play, you may play anyone after the number 1 clan defends.

No Clan ranked 2-5 may play anyone at anytime till the number 1 ranked clan defends against its number 2 winner during the tournament play. ( The Speed of the scheduling is up to you faster its gets done faster you can have freedom of play)

You may play any clans Ranked 21+ and when the number 1 ranked clan finishes its game, any clan ranked 1-5 may play anyone.

Ranked #6 - 15. May play anyone at anytime

Ranked #21 - 50: You must accept challenges from within the ranks of #1 - 50. You must play at least 2 challenges per week. 1 within 20 ranks of your current rank.

Reporting: All Matches must be reported right away, if a team does not report in a fast timely matter, action will be taken. Unless unforeseen acts of god circumstances where you must notice the clan why you cant report now. Server is down. Etc.

Playing a match and not knowing your password to report constitutes action taken against your clan. Meaning, the match shouldn't have been played if the password was not known and everyone loses from time to time. Make sure your clan leader is present to report.

Help: For the fastest help, please click on the troubleshooter. That sends an e-mail to the admins with the required info so what we may act swiftly. Admins maybe on call in game room, but that may mean they are very busy answering troubleshooter or helping someone else. Just because you have a problem does not give you priority support, there is always a line. That's why the troubleshooter is the recommended method of getting fast help.
