~Armpatch tutorial~
~Introduction~
This tutorial will cover making your own custom armpatches . This is a very simple task, and you not encounter any problems if you follow step by step.
Like always when working with any of the RS *.rsb files you will need to install the rsb plug-in into your paint program (if it supports the plug-in, mainly photoshop and paintshop pro) or, you can use the RSB<->BMP Utility, which you can obtain here. If using this utility, just follow along with the same steps except you will be creating a BMP and then using the utility to convert it to the *.rsb format. Let's begin...
~The Armpatch folder~
First we will cover where the armpatches used in the game are kept. The path for this folder is ..."Rougue Spear/data/armpatches". The armpatch folder will support 20 armpatches in the game. 15 are included with RS. When naming the file when saving, it is important to keep the name structure intact. (example: "armpatchxx.rsb", xx=the number of the patch 1-20.)
~Creating the patch~
Start by opening your paint program and creating a new image. Start with an image about 80x80-100x100 pixels to give you a good size work area. Now create the image you want. When complete RESIZE your image to 32x32 pixels. If you like the way it has turned out "save as" your image. If your plugin is installed properly, .rsb should be a save option.
Name you patch armpatch16.rsb if you have 15 patches in the armpatch folder, or armpatch17.rsb if you have 16.....so on.....after saving you can start RS and goto the MP options and you should be able to select your new armpatch from the selection there. If not, go back and insure your image is 32x32 pixels and saved in the .rsb format.
