I.    Installation

To install Slider's Urban Combat Mod Expansion, run the installer program "SUCME.exe".
Then activate the mod from the mods menu in your UO's "Options" menu.

II.   Use

I reccomend that you disable default primaries and secondaries when using my mod.  They
can be disabled using the mods menu under the options menu of UO's.  Besides, you no longer
need them...

III.  Objective

The objective of this mod was to create a detailed, realistic representation of several
exotic weapons used today in urban warfare.  Basically, I have used my own judgement and
knowledge regarding these items to determine their characteristics and performance based on
several facors:  fun, realism, playability.  Without question some of these weapons
characteristics are not 100% accurate.  No one likes a SAW that is incabable of hitting a
target from point-blank-range after 5 rounds of full auto.  If you have any questions,

VI.    "SP" Weapons

"SP" stands for special purpose.  I have included this feature for two weapons:  the M203
and M79 grenade launchers.  The reason for this is that I wanted to include several types of
40mm ammunition for these weapons.  These ammunition types are:  XM26--a 40mm non-explosive
shell containing 26 1/4" steel ball-bearings...basically a huge buckshot load.  XM140--a
40mm non-explosive shell containing 140 steel fletchette darts.  A similar round was used
during the Vietnam war by U.S. soldiers but with fewer darts.  The XM140 improves on this
highly effective round.

Both of these anti-personnel rounds are extremely effective at close range against multiple
targets.  The "SP" feature comes about because of the way that weapon files work in RS/UO's.
Both the XM26 and XM140 are similar in concept to a buckshot load.  However, to approximate
their respective spread patterns, I had to significantly increase the spread of each weapon
that fires the rounds.  Unfortunately, any solid projectile fired by these same weapons will
become proportionately inaccurate according to the spread setting.  Obviously this affects
the standard 40mm HE round that both the M203 and M79 utilize.  What happens is, you end up
with a highly effective weapon while using the spreading ammunition, but a totally
inaccurate one when using the 40mm HE.  The "SP" concept compensates for this by simply
duplicating the weapons and having one set only utilize the 40mm HE (and remaing accurate)
and having the "SP" set utilize only the spreading ammunition (the XM26 and XM140) and also
achieving its purpose.  Since you cannot take multiple types of ammunition with you into
the games, you simply make your selection prior to game start depending on what type of
tactical situation you are undertaking.

The M79 SPX was done in this same regard.  It utilizes an XM18/22 round which fires 18,
.22LR cartridges.  The spread of this 40mm round is significantly less than that of the
XM26 and XM140 so, under the way in which spread is specific to the weapon and not the ammo,
I created a new weapon to better model the effects of this ammunition type.

A few explanatory notes on these weapons.  In order to simulate using an under-barrel
grenade launcher in game, I esentially created two weapons--The primary:  the grenade
launcher itself and The secondary:  the rifle.  I chose to make the grenade launcher
the primary weapon because of the effectiveness of these weapons.  The M203 and BS-1 are
the two most accurate and effective grenade launchers in the mod.  By making them primaries
it forces the player to select their accompanying weapons:  the M4 and AKS 74U as they are
the most accurate and longest ranged assault weapons available as secondaries.  Without
this, the player would be able to mismatch weapons and grenade launchers and take away from
the game's realism.  Of course, this can still be done, but whatever weapon chosen other
than those intended will not serve the player as well especially as I have limited grenade
ammunition.

VIII.  Duplicated Weapons

I wanted to avoid simply duplicating the weapons already in the game.  I have tried to offer
alternative weapons in all the primary roles:  rifle, sub-machine gun, shotgun, pistol, and
sniper.  I've seen mods claiming to have 60 or 80 new weapons.  What they really have are
duplicates of the originals (primarily because of modding for RS) silenced duplicates of
the weapons they added, and perhaps 20 or so of what are actually "new" weapons.  However, I
have "duplicated" the UO's weapons:  AW Covert, RPD, M249, and HK 21E.  They are the same
weapons but I have increased their accuracy slightly to balance them with the rest of my
weapons.  I have also included most of the original weapons as well with slightly improved
accuracy and better pictures.  I ended up doing this so I wouldn't deny anyone their
favorite weapons while using my mod.

IX.    Removal

Simple:  Delete the folder, "Sucme" from your RS/Mods directory.
