FOREVER MY LOVE

The memories of my great-grandpas life
Inheriting  work as a stone mason,
Recalls times of troubles, hardships and strife.

Revealing his little education
His hands cracked and bled from cold, dry weather,
But he neither complained nor ever sighed.
After the evening meal they would gather,
Enwrapped in his embrace they would confide.

Nearly 50 years of difficult work
on his small frame did take its toil,
And crippling arthritis in him did lurk,
Making it hard to take a painless stroll,
But his laughter and stories will never fade,
For soon the Jordan we will wade.
