With Petrovic and Ward unable to play, the side called up Pete Abernethey. Smith was forced to take a lot of shots as the offense struggled to get moving against a pretty good defense. King was slow into his game before lighting it up late but he was not able to deliver his usual assists that the team desperately needed. With the score tied 30-30 at half time the game was there to be taken, but the team were unable to get into rythem in the second half early while 'Ball' seemed unable to miss for a clutch period opening up a 20 point lead. The Crackers closed the margin towards the end but it was never going to be enough. It was a dissapointing end to a promising campaign. The side will hopefully be back in the second semester and there is talk of Tony Hawke possibly being lured back to play for the team that was lacking rebounding ability today. |
