| In 1997 at 22 years of age brewmaster Ian Samspon left his home in Cape Breton to travel the country in persuit of the perfect beer. His travels brought him to Toronto, Thunderbay, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Edmonton and finally Clayton Park. Fustrated he was unable to find the perfect beer he decided to brew his own. (the fact that you can brew 55 bottles of beer for about 25 dollars also played a part) Always a fan of 'big beers' Sampson focuses much of his energies on producing his world famous India Pale ale as well as his award winning Extra Special Bitter. Some other styles produced are English Real Ale, Canadian Pale Ale, Irish Stout and Canadian Blonde. When asked what his favorite part of being a brewmaster was Sampson replied ' I dont know if its funner to brew the beer or drink it, i guess I love to do both' |
