It was a new institute, classes had just started. Things were yet to settle down. Labs were yet to be setup. Instruments were yet to arrive. Lots of other things were yet to... blah blah.... In the midst of such unpreparedness we were asked to do projects which were supposed to be innovative ideas, but at worst should be some modification of the experiments done in the lab course.
Biology
It was a joint team work done by around 20 students. The job was to investigate the protective action of the amino acid - proline in E. coli subjected to thermal shock.
Chemistry
Unfortunately I don't remember exactly what I did (I am writing this 2 years later) but it was most probably preparation of alum.
Physics
I think it was determination of the good old constant- g, done by me and one of my classmates Challenger Mishra. A freely falling ball intercepted three light barriers, which were connected to a PC interface named PHOENIX. The timing of interception gave the velocity and acceleration of the ball.
