Justin stood in the doorway of is balcony window. He was clad only in boxers. He looked tired.... worn. Losing ones best friend and lover tends to break ones composure.

Tears still coated the teens face. His hair a mess of curls.

He’d always heard the first night would be the worst. No arms holding him tight. No body pressed to his back. No warm breath on his neck.

He looked up at the sky. 3AM and not a cloud in sight. A single star shown brightly in the deep blue.

His tears seemed to slow in their descent. He leaned against the balcony door and crossed his arms. A warm breeze engulfed his bare body bringing the beginnings of a smile.

He rested his head against the wood frame and sighed. His eyes shut and the face he loved so much materialized in his mind. The not so perfect face and the not so perfect man... who carried half the heart of an entirely TOO perfect love. Justin would NEVER forget that face... he’d watched it countless times.

He stood upright again... suddenly exhausted enough to sleep. His lover would never be gone completely. He knew that now. He carried him in his mind and in his heart. He turned stepping back inside.
