Things were great until I met Bruce and we decided to move in together to a
larger apartment. Matilda was not a happy camper. Not only was she freaked
out that we had a new home, she didn't want to share me with anyone. There
was quite the power struggle between the two of them and we thought that we
may have to give her away. She was totally out of control, scratching and
clawing at everyone, and hissing and spitting. We took her to the vet for
some suggestions, and he said that maybe we should think about spaying her
(she was an indoor cat...no chance of unwanted litters). The best decision
we ever made. She is now a much calmer and happier cat, and she and Bruce
are best friends! Thank goodness because I am not sure who I would give up
first...Matilda or Bruce! LOL!!
Back in 1995 I was moving out to my very own apartment for the first time.
Even though I have lived away from home before, this was the first time
without room-mates! My brother Jim and his wife Ruth wanted to get me
something for a housewarming present, and thought that a kitten would be
perfect. I had wanted another ever since we had to give our first pet
'Cuddles' up. They thought a kitten would be great company for me. So, we
went over to Ruth's girlfriend's place and I got to pick a kitten from a
litter of 8 kittens. What a difficult decision! As soon as I saw Matilda
I knew that she was the one. A beautiful calico kitten.
