Sameer Khayata, son of Anton born in Damascus in the year 1967. I completed my Primary, Intermediary, Secondary and University studies in Damascus, and got the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering in the year 1990. I continued my studies in Computer field, and got a certificate in Programming from the Scientific Research Center. I worked, and is still working in teaching the computer.

The Archive work is considered as one of the most of my favorite subjects, and the Icons whose age are more than 100 years were one of the archive subjects. But they were soon changed into obsession which controlled all my works. Consequently, I started studying Theology, History and the Art of Icon writings which were distributed in Syria, and began photographing them wherever they were, in the churches and houses which I could reach. What I hope is to cover the whole Syria, and then move to the neighboring countries.
