Darth Vader

Darth Vader, a Dark Lord of the Sith, was one of the Emperor's most trusted servants. We first met him as Anakin Skywalker, a young slave from Tatooine skilled in piloting a pod and also strong in the Force. Anakin was trained in the ways of the Force by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Skywalker was seduced by the dark side of the Force, and was wounded in a fateful battle. Cyborg implants and enhancements were required to keep him alive, and, in Skywalker's change, he became Darth Vader.

At the command of Emperor Palpatine, Vader and his agents destroyed the Jedi Order. Years later on the Death Star, Vader defeated Kenobi by striking him down with a lightsaber. On Bespin, when he attempted to turn his son, Luke, to the dark side of the Force, Vader took off Luke's right hand and revealed to him that he was his father. Luke resisted the dark side and, during the Battle of Endor, Vader sacrificed himself to save his son from the Emperor. It was now that Vader returned to the good side as Anakin Skywalker.
