Luke Skywalker
On a little moisture farm on Tatooine, raised by his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru Lars, Luke Skywalker's adventures began when he encountered the droids who found Obi-Wan Kenobi. It is from Kenobi that he learned of the Rebel Alliance against the Empire. They left Tatooine on the Milennium Falcon provided by Han Solo and Chewbacca, and Luke began to learn the ways of the Force from Kenobi. They got in trouble with some Imperial Forces, and wound up on the Death Star. Here, Luke rescued Princess Leia and witnessed the death of Kenobi at the hands of Darth Vader. It was after this that Luke joined the Rebel Alliance. In the battle of Yavin, Luke was the X-wing pilot responsible for firing the proton torpedoes that destroyed the 1st Death Star. On Hoth, Commander Luke had a vision of Kenobi who told him to continue his Jedi training with Master Yoda on Dagobah. Luke followed Kenobi's advice, but his training was cut short to rescue his friends from the Empire. On Bespin, Luke confronted Vader, and at the same time lost both his right hand and his innocence when he discovered that Vader was his father. Luke was fitted with a mechanical hand before traveling to Tatooine to rescue the Han Solo (still frozen in carbonite) from Jabba the Hutt. In the battle of Endor, Luke faced Vader once more and succeeded in turning him to the good side. But, to save Luke, Vader sacrificed his own life by destroying the Emperor.
