Anakin Skywalker

A prophecy-child, Anakin has left a mark on the history of the galaxy, leading it through darkness and lightness. Anakin's unusual senses towards the Force caused Master Qui-Gon and later Obi-Wan to train him as a Jedi. Qui-Gon believed that Anakin was the Chosen One who would bring balance to the Force. Obi-Wan took Anakin as his Padawan learner after Qui-Gon was killed. Anakin became a confident apprentice with an impulsive nature and a hunger for adventure.
As turmoil took over the galaxy during the transistions between Republic and Empire, Anakin gave in to the dark side of the Force. Consumed by evil, Anakin became the Dark Lord Vader, apprentice to Emperor Palpatine. Anakin's son, Luke Skywalker sought to turn him away from the evilness. In the end, Luke awakened the light that was deep inside the darkness, and Anakin turned against his master, Emperor Palpatine. Anakin killed Palpatine but, as a result, was mortally wounded.
