A convict moves into the house of a wealthy yet divorced father (Steve Martin). This 'Soul Sista' shows him a thing or two about love and trust. Queen Latifah is charming and shows us her very humorous side, after her performance in Chicago of "Momma" earning her an academy award nomination for "Best Supporting Actress". (We learned that her singing abilities surpassed hip hop --- What a voice!) Eugene Levy best known as the dad from American Pie 1 & 2 and Joan Plowright (101 Dalmations, Dinasaur) bring the house down as a superb supporting cast.
The best thing about this movie:
A comedy that pokes fun at ethnicities, yet displays the sad truth of modern day bigotry. |
