| "Gollum" By: Avarahawen The shining flawless gold, In my solitude and despair, It came to me, My Precious, Now hidden in my lair. It would be safe there. Suddenly my eyes open wide, Peering through the darkness, A fish jumps by my side. I spot something far away, A creature on the shore, I climb into my boat Wishing to discover more. A funny creature it is, With curly head and hairy feet. Holding a shining rod, Slowly I slink over to meet. A game we must play, I win get to eat it, It wins and I show it out, Is it made of tasty meat? Puzzling questions and riddles, Back and forth we ask. "What's in my pocket?" That's an unfair task! "It cheats! It cheats!" I moan and cry, "No fair it is!" I say with a sigh. I will eat it anyway, I clamber into my boat, I am very hungry now, As I quickly cross the moat. I reach my little island, Running to my home, Searching for My Precious, Why that little gnome! "Lost! My Precious is lost!" It stole My Precious! The filthy, nasty creature! Soon I become ferocious! I soar across the water, Thundering through the tunnel, "What's in its nasty pocketses?" I have lost it in the tunnel. I fly to the back door, Sitting quietly in the passage, Listening to and smelling the musty air, I wonder if it could manage. To escape from this mountain, I see a shadow jump over me, "Curse the Baggins! We hates it!" Forever alone I must be. |
