What exactly is a caption contest? A caption contest is where you are given a picture and you try to create a humorous caption for that picture. Anyone can try for it. This is meant to be fun!!
How do I enter? You must send an email to me at [email protected] with your first name, email, site address (if applicable), and your entry IN QUOTES. Please make sure that your entry is, indeed, placed in quotes.
May I use a nickname or characters from The Lord of the Rings? Nicknames such as Dave, Jack, Jess, etc.-YES. Except for Sam-that's me. :) Nicknames or characters from The Lord of the Rings are a definite NO. Only because if someone else enters under that same name, then there will be confusion, and I don't wish that to happen.
Can I get disqualified? Yes, you can. If you use too much vulgar speech or thoughts in your entry, you will be excluded from this contest immediately. The exact limit wil be decided by me. Don't be afraid to do silly things, though. I'm not trying to scare you!
Is there a reward if I win? Of course there is a reward! There would be no contest at all if there wasn't a reward.
What is the reward? The reward, if you win, shall be your name on the MAIN PAGE of my website, and if you wish to have your site or email link on the main page as well as your name, that can be easily arranged! I encourage all people with NON-VULGAR websites to ask me, IF they are announced as winners, to have a link back to their website. Your name/website/email will remain on my main page for A WHOLE MONTH!!!! Think of all that glory! If you wish for your website to become a part of my links section after the one month period, then please email me after you know you are the winner.
Are there second and third prizes as well? Indeed, there are. Second and third prize winners will both have the honor of having their names/websites/emails placed on my links page for a month. If you are a third or second prize winner and wish to have your website remain on my links page forever, then please email me after you know you are the winner.
There is one VERY IMPORTANT RULE everyone! When you send your entry to me, please entitle the subject as "Hobbits have hairy toes." This is just so I know you read the rules all the way through. If you don't, your entry will not be considered for any prize.
