Honey Festival

Every year there is a honey festival in Moscow. It lasts for an entire month! There are hundreds of booths with honey, honey comb and believe it or not, honey beer. There are little cups or dishes with all the kinds of honey that you can taste. Then, if you find one you want to buy, they dip it out of big buckets or containers into your tub. When I got home and opened my tub of honey, I actually found a dead bee! If must have gotten stuck in the honey before the guy put the lid on. Anyway, every booth displays the region of Russia the honey comes from. Many have photos of the area where the honey was harvested. It was neat to see the different honeys and taste them all. The darker the honey, the more bitter the taste. The lighter the honey, the sweeter the taste. I got some white honey. It is very good. I tasted mint honey and berry honey as well. That’s cool because the honey is flavored by the flowers and plants where the bees live. They even had pine honey. I can’t say that was really appealing to me. I like the smell of pine trees, but I don’t like the flavor of pine trees!
