Life In Russia As I Know It
My activities, prayer requests, and thoughts on my life in Russia.
My First Russian Wedding
photo

I had the opportunity to attend my first Russian wedding in August.  I've known Alina from past English Camps.  She married a Norwegian named Joern.  He doesn't speak much Russian and she doesn't speak Norwegian so they communicate in English.  He works on an oil ship as an engineer.  He spends five weeks at sea and five weeks at home.  Alina will be in the small group Bible study I will facilitate this fall. :-)

The wedding was in a beautiful little chapel.  It was a small wedding and the guests got to ride around the city on a bus.  We were picked up at the hotel were his family stayed and taken to the wedding chapel.  After the wedding, all the guests piled onto the bus and went to two locations for wedding photos.  The wedding was at 2 and the reception started at 6.  I left at 10 p.m. and the dancing was just getting started.

This picture was taken near Red Square.  The other girl in the picture is my new friend, Anya.  She attends university in Texas so she is only here during the summer months.  We had a great time and the weather was beautiful!
