Life In Russia As I Know It
My activities, prayer requests, and thoughts on my life in Russia.
Entry for June 6, 2007

It has been a very busy week here in St. Pete.  I'm taking a class on the Pentateuch. We have class each day for about 5 hours and then an hour in our discussion groups.  Thankfully, I got all but about 5 chapters of my Bible reading done in advance so I'm not reading my homework every chance I get like Julia and Katya!  I've made a lot of new friends here.  It's a lot of fun to get to know new Russians and Americans.  We walk up to the store together and enjoy time walking on the beach.  The mosquitoes are pretty bad, but I brought repellent so I'm pretty good.

June is the month of White Nights in St. Petersburg.  That means the sun doesn't set until really late and comes up a few hours later (like Alaska).  So it hasn't been getting dark here until nearly 1 a.m. and then it starts getting light again about 3 and the sunrises around 4.  It's very deceptive to be out walking around at 10:00 at night and the light makes it seem like it is only 7 or 8 p.m.
