What a fun day!  

After church I went home with Ashen for lunch and a nice visit.  We haven't gotten to spend much time together and she will be leaving in the fall.  I got to see where she lives and found out about new foods I can buy for meals!

The afternoon was spent at our teacher picnic.  Sergei and Sam prepared shashlick (shishkibobs).  We had five teachers and our staff and spouses.  It was a great time!  Afterwards, Olga invited me back to her apartment to meet her pet chinchila.  He's sweet and we had fun feeding him grasses she had picked in the park where we had our picnic.  I got home around 9:30.  It was still daylight.  The sun hasn't been setting until nearly 10 so it doesn't get dark until nearly 11.  They days will continue to grow longer and longer.  It will be interesting to see the "white nights" in St. Petersburg in a couple of weeks!
