Life In Russia As I Know It
My activities, prayer requests, and thoughts on my life in Russia.
Entry for May 18, 2007

Today was our last Alpha Cafe.  We had the smallest group this week with only about 25-30 people total.  There were probably as many discussion leaders and adults as there were kids.  It was a good ending to the series.  I lead one of the games and Kyle gave an overview of all the meetings.  Then Sam talked about the Holy Spirit.

We only have six kids signed up for the retreat this weekend.  I do know that Varya and Dasha will be going so you can specifically pray for the two of them.  Especially that Varya's heart would be open to the truth.  She carried on a long conversation with me, but it was not about spiritual matters.  I ended up in the kitchen all night and she wanted to know why I hadn't sat with them.  (Last week I sat with them until it was time for the talk and then went with the group that prays during the talk and discussion.)  At least she missed me!  So she said she will be at the retreat.  I hope we have it at the dacha where we had the last retreat.  If it is a small enough group, we will do that.  It will be a great location!  They even have an area for a bonfire.  I should go to Stockmann's and pay $3 for a bag of marshallows just so we can have a marshmallow roast!  If the weather stays nice like it has been, it will be perfect bonfire weather.

Dasha M. and Andrew walked home with me so we could go to the pharmacy and get allergy meds.  I hope they help because I'm miserable right now!  They stayed a while and I learned to play a game called "fool" in Russian. I don't think I could teach someone else to play, but I was never the fool so I felt like I did well.
