| Current Status: Junior double majoring in Finance and Real Estate at The Ohio State University. (Class of 2003) Previous Work during College: Merril Lynch: For a period of eight months I worked part time for a financial consultant. Most often i was cold calling and offering Merril Lynch's financial services which consisted of professional money management and estate planning. Another task given was researching the Merril Lynch database for mutual funds that satisfied a certain portfolio. Safa Nonwoven Factory: I've worked in the factory full time for two summers which have added up to six months. I know the owners so I did a lot of random work ranging from overseeing a product line to attending executive meetings to creating Excel spreadsheets to calculate cost structures. Huntington National Bank: For three months of my '00 summer I worked full time in the Consumer Collateral Operations department where I processed car titles and researched and rebuilt customer files that had been lost. There I saw how a poor management of the building could lead to millions of dollars lost in current and future customers. Ohio State Entomology Department: At the entomology department I worked part time for two P.h.d. professors for a period of three months. I helped create a database on Excel for bees that was eventually used to map out the location of certain bees throughout the U.S. This map was put online for other researchers to use. Interests: Muslim Students' Association: I've worked closely with this student group at Ohio State since my freshman year. I like to volunteer my time whenever I can. I've tutored middle school Somalian refugees, organized picnics, I still organize weekly sporting events, and I've lead a project to find, fund, and organize muslim housing on campus. These are just a few projects that I've participated in. Online Trading: For the last year or so I've been trading online for myself and some of my friends and relatives. My interest in stock trading came when i won the Columbus Stock Market Game my senior year in high school. This competition pitted teams from most high schools in Columbus in a real stock market situation. Out of three hundred teams or so, my partner and I came in first by increasing our market value by eighty percent in three months. |
