With the current crucial Clerides-Denktash negotiations for the reunification of the Republic of Cyprus and her people, Samegarden would like to express its steadfast conviction that any solution to the Cyprus problem should recognise and safeguard the human rights of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot people! Any solution should be consonant with the fundamental principles of the Human Rights Convention, and should not derogate from the principles set out by the acqui communautaire - freedom of movement, freedom of settlement, right to property. Hopefully, a solution may be achieved by the end of December, so that both Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots can enjoy the benefits of EU accession.
