| Live, Love, and Hate, by Orpheus Week 6 66 Everything Samecool says is wrong Yep, thats right, everything. Incase youre wondering, I AM trying to get myself fired. Well, no, not really, but he is wrong about a lot of stuff and Im here to clarify all that. But before we get to that, its time for the weekly update on the world of Orpheus (thats the writer, not the White-Wolf game). Well, as you mightve guessed, Ive started writing LLH again. Ive been drowning in my own self-pity for the last four weeks or so (or however long its been since Week 4). Well, lets get started on complaining. First, well start with his thoughts (he doesnt actually think, trust me) on the meaning of life. Lets start with what he says is the most reasonable 6. (Insert god here) created us. I say, this speaks for itself, and makes the most sense. This is not a why, Jesus. Its a how. Besides, this isnt any more probable than a few of the theories you discount, such as 3. We are the science experiment of higher beings. This would explain why all the UFOs, but is, again, impractical! This would be one very complicated science experiment. I mean, these two arent that different! They both state that humanity was created to further the purposes of an outside entity. Besides which, supposing that (Insert god here) created us, where is (Insert god here) now? Next, theres one that Id say is one of the more probable, 4. Everyone has their own individual meaning of life. This would explain all the confusion, but doesn't make sense. If we have individual meanings, then how do we find out our meanings? Or will we know when we achieve it? Well, take a look at the theology in Cats Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. Theres the concept of a karass; a group of people who have interwoven fates and will ultimately share the same meaning of life. Of course, you dont know until youre dead who was in your karass, what your meaning was, or even if you accomplished what you were intended to do. 2. We are here to make a better place. This is impractical! Some people just want to destroy things, never creating! Well, yeah. If you go by the God created us thing, remember that atheists and members of other religions exist. Isnt that kind of the same thing as people who destroy if we were meant to create? Besides, sometimes things need to be destroyed for improvement to occur. And also, if something is static, it cannot be perfect, and for good to exist, there must also be evil. So, there cannot be creation without destruction for everything that IS there must be something that ISNT. As in, yknow for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. 1. We were put on Earth to reproduce and die. I say this is stupid. If that's all we're for, then why do we have dreams of better things? And why do people make this one goal so difficult? Well, to answer the latter question, its because people share the common delusion that theres some point to all this. I mean, when you die, what then? It doesnt matter what you did, youre dead! The only permanent legacy that you can leave is to pass your genetics on from one generation to the next.
