| Live, Love, and Hate, by Orpheus Supplement 1: On Life Let me begin by giving you the following disclaimer: I am only a high-school freshman. I have never done anything particularly risky and/or interesting. If you listen to my advice against your own judgment, you are neither living your own life nor following the advice contained herein. That being said, I have decided to do a trio of supplement columns about my views on the title topics of this column (life, love, and hatred). Having said that, I will now begin my rant. They say that the only unavoidable things in life are death and taxes. I find this isnt true. Religion (whether your own or somebody elses) and bad movies are also unavoidable. I must say that Im not terribly fond of any of the things on the list of unavoidables, but Ill start with death. Death is final so far as we know. Yep, thats all I can really say. Now on to taxes. Taxes are a pain, or so Im lead to believe. Al Capone was jailed on tax evasion, so I guess that they really cant be avoided. I am not a supporter of the tax system. Not because of how its set up, but simply because Im very fond of my money. Religion: I dont like it. Its all a bunch of fakes, including Lindeism. For those of you who arent familiar with Lindeism, it bases itself off of Christianity, but claims that a man by the name of Steve Linde was the second coming, and that Wednesday is the true Sabbath, and you are also supposed to wear orange on Wednesday. Bad movies: I like them. Well, I like them so long as theyre the good kind of bad, like Mitchell or The Tingler. Of course, there are also some really bad movies, like Manos: Hands of Fate, The Sidehackers, and Star Wars: Episode I. I say that a constitutional amendment barring the production of bad movies is what this country (and all countries) really needs. I think thats about it I know I didnt really touch on life, so I think Ill give all the advice I can: - For those of you who think it sucks and isnt worth it. Go ahead, try it. You wont find much on anything on the other side, though - Go ahead and take chances, youve only got one chance, so why not give it your all? Thats about all for this time. This is Orpheus, signing out for supplement one. |
