Live, Love, and Hate – by Orpheus
Week 54 – A year in fast forward
(1/12/05) Before I get started on the year in ff, I’d like to say that something’s just really wrong with me. I seem to be all angry and sad, switching off between the two of them seemingly randomly. I even ended up crying last night, which is really weird considering that even the death of a family member doesn’t get me to cry (or at least it didn’t the last two times). So, uh, yeah, on to the celebration, expect more updating as I go through.
Week 1: An introduction: Orpheus, an angry high school freshman introduces himself, and the first two Letters, J and K. Letters R(also though of using S, V, or P) and L (later switched to N and then back again) are excluded. Then, rambles on about stupid people.
Supplements 1-3: On Life, On Love, and On Hatred: Orpheus talks about things he doesn’t really understand.
Week 2: random complaints: Orpheus complains about random things, including snow.
Week 3: Bad Movies I: Orpheus talks about bad movies
Week 4: Bad Movies II, Attack of the Bad Movies: Orpheus talks about more bad movies
Week 5: Brain in “parked” position: title says it all
Week 6: 66 Everything Samecool says is wrong: It is, everything he says is WRONG
Week 7: Confused to say the least (May contain spoilers!): in which Orpheus is confused. This is two days or so after the first appearance of Eurydice [introduced later]. For those of you who know some truth, this was the day of first sight. Then, rambles on about random things
Week 8: I can’t think of a fancy title: Seriously, that was the title. In this column, Orpheus just generally acts like an idiot.
Supplement 4: On “K”: Orpheus finally explains a little bit about the past regarding one of the Letters, “K”.
Week 9: finally caught up: Orpheus rambles aimlessly
Week 10: With eyes turned to the stars: the first serious episode of LLH, Orpheus goes on about various topics, including how sad he is, the horrible way in which the caravan treats “Tim”, and then explains why he chose the name Orpheus.
Week 11: Deliverance: this was nearly a month after Week 10, Orpheus continued the tradition of serious columns. He introduces Eurydice, R, L, and first J. Probably the best episode of LLH.
Week 12: Returning in redemption: Orpheus elaborates on events regarding R that popped up after Deliverance. Well, during the writing of the column, actually, I think. May 7th, a wonderful day.
Week 13: Hobbit Holes (Human Decency): Orpheus rants on about fellow columnist the Hobbit. She was a bitch, might still be, don’t know, haven’t really spoken to her much (if at all) since.
Week 14: Follow the White Rabbit: Orpheus posts the prologue and first chapter and a half or so of a story he’s writing instead of a column. This was actually written after Week 15, for some reason I can’t remember.
Week 15: In which K’s name was revealed before I went back and edited it: In which K’s name is revealed was original title. Orpheus goes on and on about Hobbit and how she had (and still has) no right to call him an “emotional nazi”.
Supplement 5: More on Love: I’m not sure exactly when this was written, so I put it here. This one sucked, don’t read it.
Week 16: Crumpled Sketches: Orpheus goes on about how people really expect too much of him, and how he stabbed the kid who sat behind him in biology.
Week 17: Phoenix and Fennris: A short passage (5 paragraphs) about a set of fraternal twins and their parents sitting around a fire.
Week 18: Menagerie: In which Orpheus externalizes his anger (the source of which is revealed in Weeks 20) by putting up songs and poems relating to how he’s feeling, though he can’t find his own words to describe it.
Week 19: A short essay on why Samecool should not be allowed to live: title says it all.
Week 20: fennRis: Orpheus makes a jackass of himself.
Week 20 part 2 my first continuation: Orpheus continues to act like an ass.
Week 21: Uh…: After an apology note from R, Orpheus realizes that he’s the one who should have been apologizing (and is still very sorry for what he did), and describes what it’s like at the summer school class he’s taking so that he won’t have to take PE next year.
Week 22: Cassandra: Orpheus quotes the song “Cassandra” by the Crüxshadows.
Week 23: Lead Me Not Into Temptation: Orpheus introduces C.
(1/27/05) Okay, so this column is late, oh well, live with it. I’ve been unable to wrest the computer from my brother’s grip until now. I gots me a ghoul in VtM: Bloodlines, and I would include a picture of her and my aquarium (mostly because I am crazy), but my computer (being the horrible thing that it is) cannot open tga files. Oh, I got Resident Evil 4 yesterday, the game rocks, get it, but I gotta say, I miss the zombies. Anyway, back to the column!
Week 24: The Thirtieth Episode: Orpheus reviewed the Letters
Week 25: Conversations with Eurydice: Parts of the first visit of Eurydice.
Week 26: The Oblivion: First of the “ghost columns”, where Orpheus puts himself in Wraith: the Oblivion, and puts Eurydice as his Shadow.
Week 27: Another menagerie: see Week 18.
Week 27.5: there’s a column at the end of this one, I swear: see week 27
Week 28: Later that Night: This column never happened; if you think you read it, you are hallucinating.
Week 29: More bits of conversation with Eurydice: contains bits of conversations from major visits 1-4 of Eurydice.
Week 30: Cracking Up: Orpheus starts to go crazy (well, crazier)
Week 31: Okay, what’s with people and that priest on Inuyasha?: Orpheus talks about C, who is mentioned almost as rarely as L.
Week 32: I still can’t remember why I called her: Orpheus wakes R up with a phone call at 3 am, then forgets why he called. R laughs at him, but is nice enough to try and stifle the laughter.
Week 33: Descent into the Labyrinth: Oblivion cycle, part II. Orpheus goes in search of Eurydice, descending into the Labyrinth to do so,
Week 34: Words of Flame: Orpheus says stupid things.
Week 35: Doused Words: Orpheus realizes what he said in the previous column was stupid.
Week 36: Charon’s Folly: Oblivion cycle, part III. Orpheus is at a Pathos bar.
Week 37: Freak: Oblivion cycle, part IV. Orpheus leaves Charon’s Folly.
Week 38: Here comes the rain again: Orpheus rambles aimlessly, and then talks about C at the end.
Week 39: A collection of animals: see Week 18
Week 40: Operation PicK: Orpheus discusses Operation PicK, which leads to Photo-Safari.
Week 41: Screams of the Undead: bizarre to say the least
Week 42: Horror movie marathon: Orpheus covers all of the types of columns
Week 43: Photo-Safari: Orpheus has pictures of all the people mentioned in the column (still working on getting all those pictures, but posting them as I gets em)
Week 44: Decidedly Shorter than Intended: Orpheus acts like an ass, but makes a mighty fine point while doing so.
Week 45: Like a fading song…: Orpheus introduces B, and the rest of the column can be summarized by this quote: “Well, ever notice how you can seem to believe something with everything you are one day, and yet later it doesn’t seem to make any sense when you wake up the next morning?”
Week 46: CURSES!: really REALLY sucked
Week 47: VItalis: the VItalis cycle part I, continuation of Oblivion cycle. Orpheus the ghost wonders about his Passions and Fetters
Week 48: My lab partner is a drooling moron: Orpheus is angry
Week 49: This Sucks: Orpheus goes on about how much not having a computer sucks
Week 50: So Strange: Orpheus continues to go insane.
Week 51: Diary of dreams (I hate small children): Orpheus talks about his dreams, which are very messed up, but often times very pleasant. (AHAHAHA! Mad World).
Week 52: The icy grip of the damned: Orpheus talks about B.
Week 53: Lucid: VItalis cycle part II.
