Week 59 – Herald of the Storm

HERALD OF THE STORM

The girl who sees the fire rain,

With her hungry, vacant eyes,

And blood hands,

She is the herald of the storm,

She will raise the waters once again,
And follow in the Fish’s wake,

As the Storm begins,

The old wreckage is swept away in the floods,

And the new wonders are destroyed,

The water climbing higher,

The Burning One nearly doused and drowned,

Looks at me,

And wordless in her stare,

Yournotgongetmadagainru?

I hold my tongue and tell her no,

Hurts so much,

Because I know she had to ask,

But why?

Sheneedsprotectionrememberlasttimehowmuchshehurt,
Allbecauseofme,

I answer to myself,

Sigh because I know it’s true,

The dam that the Fish built is starting to give,

Fish never knew that it was built,

But still the Herald follows in the Fish’s wake,

But she splashes so much more,

Now that the water is deeper,

Can’t tell if she’ll get past the wall she doesn’t see,

Maybe won’t fit through Fish’s tiny hole,

Three roads diverged in that flood-ridden ruin,

And the Dream isn’t here to guide me,

Where did she go?

I need the hand to hold and guide me,

Need to consume and then move on,

But I’m trapped in the high water of her Storm,

I look again at the Burning One,

She’s doused and looks so sad,

Maybethistimeireallygottagoisithealthyisitreal?

I think, and then I look again,

Burning and so beautiful,

Standing at the flooding crossroads,

Can barely make out the paths,

The Dream should be here,

I want(NEED)her back,

To feel the hand in mine,

Well, it’s not finished, but further updates as more is written.
