1014 DelawareAveThe Delaware Children's Theatre;
Shoestring
Productions of Brandywine Valley was founded in 1977 to create
and produce original musical
theatre for young audiences. We usually audition in summer for the
September-June season of primarily school and library performances.
Actors should be experienced, a quick study, strong improvisational skills,
strong singing voice, have ability to keep a show "fresh" with no brush
up rehearsals, ideally be able to keep a repertoire of three shows ready
to go simultaneously, daytime availability, and lastly, but not leastly,
enjoy performing for children. They are the future.
We accept photos/resumes to keep on file at any time and encourage interest.
We are based in Wilmington, but tour in any direction a distance of 1 and
a half hours, so actor should be based locally. As this is a professional
troupe, we keep a relatively small group of performers, but this is to
guarantee reasonable employment.
In addition we have a musical theatre training program for young people
ages 6-17. Our next student
production is "The Snow Queen", February 11,
18, and 25, 2 PM The Rollins
Center of Saint Edmond's Academy, 2120
Veale Road, Wilmington, DE (Information/tickets
302-655-0299) We also coach
young adults/adults privately
in musical theatre skills.
