Many years ago, I adopted a rescue dog. What I thought at first was a funny looking Wirehaired Dachshund, turned out to be a Cesky Terrier. Sambarb's Nina, (Nina to her friends) won my heart, and I have been involved with the breed ever since. One year later, I adopted a second rescue Cesky, De Schalkjes Orfus. Although they had a rough start in life, they brought us much joy. Orfe became a cherished member of our family. We are grateful for our time with Nina and Orfe.
We also have had wonderful dogs in our breeding program: Ch.Blarneygem Holly Beryl, Ch. Blarneygem Tipster Topaz, Multiple/Int'l Ch. Sambarbs Holly Adar (Hattie), Sambarbs Classified Page (Classy), and Multiple/Int'l Ch. Resinous Front Page News (Page) who we imported from Norway to serve as the resident stud dog. His son, Multiple/Int'l Ch Sambarbs Harry Potter, and bitches bred by Ulrike Pignon have joined us. They are Can. Ch.Tinky-Winky vom Lichtblick, "Tinka," and her half sister Smiezka vom Lichtblick. The girls are both daughters of the multiple Champion in Europe, Ch. Dainty's Quincy Spider.
We are founding members of the American Cesky Terrier Fanciers Association, the AKC parent club for the Cesky Terrier. Barb is vice president, rescue chair, and on the education committee. Lonnie is the membership chair.
