| Things that have influenced me through out my time at uni are one of the bands i used to play in called RAW SAMBA. i was a section leader for the caxia section of the band and I felt that I was a very dedicated member of the band having neaver missed a single gig. the band has well over 100 members and is currently funded by the adult learning council and mumies raised from gigs. to learn more about joining a samba band in your area please e-mail me and i will see what i can find for you. |

| Surdo. Bbass drum comes in 3 main sizes hi medium and low |
| Timba said Chimba playd with the hands the rim shot is a higher pitchd sound than if playd in the center of the drum. |
| Tamborim played with a beater this instrument is small but probably the loudest instrument in the band |
| Agogo bells, played with a wooden stick this instrument is a very popular instrument within the band |
| Caxia or snare drum is played with two sticks timbale style this is what i played within the band and of which I was section leader. |
| Shakers this keeps the band in time withoutt these the band would probably be a disaster. the man incharge of these is my good friend Geoff Groves he has kept shakin in time for the band for 2 seasons |
