Akhushtal is in her room. She is singing to herself and then all of a sudden Ixtab runs into the room.
(Yelling)
What are you doing?
I am excited because our dad has given us the opportunity to let us have our own spot to go to Earth. (Pause) You know, if we get bored, or something.
Whatever just leave me alone!
No, don’t tell me what to do. I can do whatever I please.
Akhushtal and Ixtab start fighting and Ah Kinchil comes in yelling.
AH KINCHIL (yelling)
Stop fighting, you two are acting like babies.
Akhushtal trips and grabs Ixtab. They both fall down to the earth. When they get up, they look at the ground and start crying because they cracked the earth.
(Crying)
Oh, no we have cracked the earth, father will be mad at us! What are we going to do?
(Shrugging)
Don’t look at me!
Whatever we do, we can’t tell dad.
IXTAB + AKHUSHTAL
(SIGH)
We have to tell dad or when he finds out, he’ll kill us!
You’re right! (Pause) So, which one of us is going to tell him?
Not me!!
Oh fine!
Ah Kinchil is reading a book when Akhushtal and Ixtab walk in and tells him what happened.
Dad, I have something to tell you. When I was talking to you and we both disappeared, well, I really fell and grabbed Ixtab so she would fall with me…………
(Interrupting)
Yeah, she really did!
Oh shut up. Anyway dad, but we fell and we fell on Earth, and we (Pause) we cracked the earth.
What, you are joking, right?
Sadly no dad.
(Angrily)
What! You are both grounded.
Akhushtal and Ixtab walk to their room, and lay down on their beds.
I have an idea.
What is it?
Lets make a thing on Earth people call trees for the Earth.
What do you mean?
You’ll see.
They both start making trees and clouds. Curtains close.
Ah Kinchil walks into the room and sees the girls working together.
I am very proud of you girls. So even though you have 1 week of grounding left of grounding you’re ungrounded.
But there’s still something missing.
Like what may I ask?
Like soil?
AKHUSHTAL + IXTAB
Soil?
Soil.
Ok whatever you say.
Ah Kinchil shoots a lightening bolt at the Earth and soil appears. Missy walks in the room.
What the heck is going on in here?
We are adding to our things on the planet.
(YELLING)
What! You know that planet is full already!
Missy gets really mad and her face turns bright red that creates colors on the Earth.
Missy look at what you have done down on Earth!
Now what did I do?
You have created
some color on the Earth! (Pause) Do you want me to finish adding the color or do
you want to?
You can finish, I am pooped. If you need me, I will be in my room, sleeping
Missy exits the room. Ah Kinchil shoots a lightning bolt down to Earth and it finishes adding color.
Hey, Akhushtal?
AKHUSHTAL
What?
I can do something you can’t do!
Like what?
I can make living things!
That is not fair, I want to make the living things!
How about you make the living things and I will make the animals.
Ok.
It’s a deal.
Missy walks into the room.
Not to be a show off or anything, but I can do much better than that.
AKHUSHTAL
Ok. Then show us.
Missy taps the ground with her foot and then suddenly, the humans and animals got smarter.
Now we need one last thing.
What might that be?
AKHUSHTAL
The sun!
IXTAB
Who is going to be the sun, though? We don’t know a man that would want to be the sun.
Yes we do.
Everyone turns their heads to look at Ah Kinchil, who is looking at the Earth in pleasure.
Why is everyone looking at me? (Pause) Oh no, I am not going to be the sun!
Please, please, please, please, please!
(Sighing)
