The Story of Adam and the Thirsty Crow
by Samartha Vashishtha
Adam didn't rent bulldozers to pull down trees.
Adam used his two hands to pluck the lonely apple
savoured it quietly; went into exile.
Adam left the saples next to the apple intact.
Adam built this great earth of ours bit by bit.
Adam was a communist.
The crow saw the pitcher on Adam's roof one afternoon.
The crow drank to his fill, spilt the rest and flew.
The crow knew the utility of the boulders around
was more than that of grass sprouting from the earth.
That evening, Adam had no water to drink.
The crow had invented technology.
