Learning About Women
by Samartha Vashishtha
The mask of an idol off
not picture-perfect
as in my dreams
she sits by my side in the sun.
Shaky hands, chapped lips
hair cropping up on the arms
from a distant fold of skin
Her thighs, a red hot ember pushing hard
the last last winter in my blood.
