Look At Me Now!

Update 7/14/06
Summer is good and Samantha is doing great! We are mostly hanging out at home for now, as mom and dad are busy with lots of home projects. The girls are loving their new play set complete with a pulley bag that lets them send balls, toys, notes, or whatever up and down. Samantha loves to swim so she has been enjoying the warm days with pool time. Other tasks she and I are trying to work on when we can include learning to ride her bike without the training wheels and tying shoes, but so far these are both progressing very slowly. She came up with the idea of a job chart. It lists daily jobs she has to do like water the plants, empty the trash cans, or math problems, etc. So far she is still pretty faithfully checking things off each day. She is getting good at helping out and doing what she can - and mom is very happy and thankful for the help.
Heartwise there is nothing new to report. She is due for a check-up with her cardiologist next month and we are praying for no surprises. Sadly, the email discussion group we are connected with has had what seems to be an unusually high number of HLHS kiddos earn their angels wings over the last month or two. Our hearts go out to those who have experienced a loss. It has been extremely sobering. No one can ever predict the future. Where ever you are - stop and count your blessings and then go an hug the ones you love!
The picture above was taken in April while we were vacationing in Florida. You can check out other recent photos of Samantha and a couple of her in gymnastics class last December (that I have finally added) in the photo gallery.
