2000 Million selling UK act Republica have gone from strength to strength over the last three years. The British group's first hit "Ready To Go" has become a worldwide classic and has charted all over the globe. It is the official anthem for several UK and US football teams as well as an American ice hockey team.
Republica's second single, Drop Dead Gorgeous, entered the UK Top Ten one month after Ready To Go. Both singles have been used in numerous advertisements and films around the World. The band's debut album "Republica" stayed at the top of the album charts until it went Platinum. After extensive touring around the World, the band took time out to recorded their second album, "Speed Ballads". The first single from this album, "From Rush Hour With Love", went straight into the Top Twenty as the band headed out again on a sell-out UK tour.
Last year saw Republica headlining numerous university balls around the UK and appearing at festivals in Europe. They travelled to Iceland with Garbage and Mercury Rev to perform at a one day festival, appeared at the Wicked Women Show in London's Hyde Park along with many celebrity acts, supported Bryan Adams on his UK Arena tour, opened a Sunderland football match (who have Ready to Go as their official anthem) and performed to 75,000 spectators and 30 million viewers at Twickenham Rugby ground. Amid this hectic schedule, Saffron found time to DJ at Donatella Versace's London par ty as well as at clubs around the country. Republica also supported several charity events by performing live sets, appeared on the Radio 1 Roadshow and attracted over 500 fans when they opened a Tower Records store.
Saffron, whose face has adorned magazine covers, billboards and bedroom walls around the world, has also featured as the "Face of Diet Pepsi" in their advertising campaign. She is currently considering collaborations with several other artists while Republica finalise plans for their next recording project. The band will preview new songs at selected shows, both in the UK and abroad, this summer.
