Hard on the heels of the Atlantic Rock Rats Rally, Planet Promotions have assembled a galaxy of stars for their second exciting 12-hour festival at the aptly named Milky Way adventure park in glorious North Devon on Saturday, 29th July.

Just one year after last year's Atlantic Highway Rock - one of the westcountry's rare successes in the ill-fated eclipse summer - Planet have taken the brave step of staging two major concerts on consecutive weekends on their huge site at the Milky Way, rated by the Independent newspaper as one of the top 50 theme parks in the world, and surely destined in a few years to become the second Glastonbury.

AND NOW COMES EVEN BIGGER NEWS!!

ONE WEEK LATER ON SATURDAY, 29TH JULY Planet Promotions presents:

ATLANTIC ROCK 2000

The big news is that having rock legend BOB GELDOF, contracted for several months to make a "special guest appearance", (Bob's promised an hour and a half on stage) Planet can now disclose their headline band and proudly announce REPUBLICA, with their amazing lead singer, SAFFRON. This internationally recognised band have been chart toppers over the last four years - check out your local juke box and they'll be lurking there with their unique blend of dance, pop and punk. This band produces cutting edge music and are visually stunning. Those in the know tell Planet that REPUBLICA will bring in 3,000 followers which is EVEN MORE REASON TO BOOK EARLY (LIKE NOW!!) because admission restrictions again apply for this concert!

TICKETS are £25.50 and available through the HOTLINE 01288 359640 or from outlets mentioned on the posters and website.

So, with Republica and that great crowd pleaser, Geldof, playing old and new material, fans could be forgiven for being happy with them alone, but again it's a 12-hour show and there's much, much more. Stranglers lead singer, PAUL ROBERTS is making a real holiday in his beloved westcountry and makes a surprise solo appearance with FAITH after sell-out shows London that have prompted his first single and album release.

VICIOUS CIRCLE are bound to hit the charts soon and this young band have already been snapped up by a major record company with one of their biggest fans being none other than Mick Fleetwood - if he don't know talent, nobody does!

SCHINDLER make the trip down from Glasgow with two Indie chart singles under their belts and are sure to get the early evening audience rocking!

AND FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, Planet present MOSAIC, four beautiful girls who in less than two years have turned themselves into one of the UK's biggest in-demand live performance bands. More than just a tribute band, their classy interpretation of anything from Abba to Madonna and Steps to All Saints, made then Leicester's top band last year. Their fantastic "Can-Can" number is sure to drive the guys wild!

Add to this nine other bands on two stages, including Planet's old friend and great supporter, Ernie Lee with KURVE and the ingredients are all there. CHECK OUT THE POSTERS and the WEB-SITE for the full line-up but one you won't see are THE PEDESTRIANS - a chance meeting in Northampton and a listen to their CD has prompted Planet to sign them up for a special late night spot on Stage 2.
