· Worked on a team to consult with dozens of client companies to plan, deploy and administer multi-domain NT/2000 local area networks consisting of 10 to 300+ users. Diagnosed network problems including hardware troubleshooting of Hubs, Routers, Network Interface Cards, Gateways, Switches, Category 5 cable and Thinnet cable.
· Installed, configured and supported Windows 2000 and NT 4.0 server network operating systems. Planned, deployed and managed Windows 2000 Active Directory and NT 4.0 domain environments. Managed Active Directory sites, services, domains, and trusts. Managed user, computer and group (local and global) accounts. Implemented and applied Group Policies to domains, sites and Organizational Units (OU's) to manage account, user rights, and audit policies. Used support tools to configure, manage, and troubleshoot the Active Directory with utilities including "dcdiag", "replmon", "DFSutil", "netdiag", "ntdsutil", "netdom", and "repadmin", "dcpromo" and "forestprep". Assigned and transferred Active Directory Server roles including PDC emulator master, Relative ID (RID) master, and Infrastructure masters.
· Installed and managed network services in a Windows 2000/NT 4.0 environment including Dynamic DNS, DHCP, WINS, RRAS, DFS, Certificate Authority (CA), Terminal Services, Virtual Private Networking (PPTP), and MS Internet Information Server (IIS).
· Installed and maintained server products including Microsoft Exchange mail server (5.5 and 2000), MS Cluster Server, Veritas Backup Exec server, Computer Associates ArcServ backup server, Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition, Eudora WorldMail mail server, Dantz Retrospect backup server (Apple Platform), and “Post.Office” mail server.
· Managed FAT, and NTFS file systems and resources, managed browsing in LAN/WAN environments using multiple protocols, set up share and NTFS resource security, and diagnosed problems with applications in the NT/2000 environment.
· Installed and supported client applications including Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes 4.x and 5.x clients, Hummingbird Maestro NFS client, Exceed, Exodus, Visual Studio, MS Project, MS FrontPage, Adobe FrameMaker, Visio, Outlook, Eudora, Netscape, Internet Explorer, Netmeeting, McAfee VirusScan, Goldmine, ACT!, Pcanywhere, Alpha4 and Twin Bridge Language software.
· Installed and configured client operating systems including Windows XP, Windows 2000 Professional, NT Workstation 4.0, Windows 98, and Windows 95. Created automated installation procedures using disk imaging software Ghost and Drive Image. Created automated application installation sets using Microsoft Sysdiff utility.
· Installed, configured, and supported TCP/IP in a network environment, tested TCP/IP, assigned valid IP addresses to multiple TCP/IP host computers in different LAN environments, defined a subnet mask and IP address range for multiple TCP/IP routed networks, and configured DHCP server. Enabled NetBIOS name resolution through broadcasts, LMHOSTS files, HOSTS files, Dynamic DNS and WINS. Utilized utilities including FTP, PING, Telnet, Trace route, Nslookup, Nbtstat, and Netstat.
· Installed, configured, and supported network printers and printer resources including HP Laser Jet, Lexmark, Canon and Tektronix brand printers.
· Installed, configured and maintained firewall products including Check Point Firewall (4.1 and NG), SonicWall, Netscreen and Team Internet. Installed and configured VPN client access to internal networks through Check Point SecuRemote VPN client, Nortel Extranet client and Microsoft PPTP/L2TP clients.
