I should have stayed in bed this
morning
The heartache came without a
warning
To rob me of my dreams
She should have been with me
last night
But he won her without a fight
Adultery of the heart
What
am I going to do without you
Without
you
Where
am I going to go without you
Without
you
How
will I find my way without you
Without
you
I feel
the pain of love without you
It's
the other side of love without you
She toyed with my emotions
Like the waves of an ocean
She tossed and turned my heart
She seemed to be the girl for me
For the longest time she held the key
Unlocking every door
I should have stayed in bed this morning
The heartache came without a warning
To rob me of my sleep
I should have seen it dying
I should have kept on trying
Instead I closed my eyes

CANDLE OF LIFE
Life is but a
brief brief candle flickering upon the wind
Dimming with
each passing moment while autumn leaves begin to spin
Like the shadows
of remembrance of a long forgotten dream
The wretched
actor takes his place bows his head lies by the stream
Tomorrow has
come quickly yesterday seems far behind
Every heart
has untold sorrows tasted fear and drank its wine
Tomorrow creeps
upon sinners and upon the chosen ones
We all need
to be forgiven in the end what have we done
Life is but a
thoughtless pleasure that flames hotly and then fades away
Leaving only
scattered ashes upon the hearts that are made of clay
Our time has
been a time forgotten in this hour we know for sure
Our hope lies
in our compassion our despair must not endure
On the bridge
of endless sorrow I have watched love pass me by
I never know
about forgiveness until the day I learned to cry
I saw faces pass
before me in a line that never ends
Upon their foreheads
plainly written take the heart that is in my hands
Is it really over
now look how much my hands have changed
There’s a spot
upon my conscience I've washed it clean but it still remains
Is it really
over now look in my heart I’m still the same
The first and
last words that are spoken echo in a hopeless rage
Tomorrow has come
quickly yesterday seems far behind
Every heart has
untold sorrows tasted fear and drank its wine
Tomorrow creeps
upon sinners and upon the chosen ones
We all need to
love each other in the end what have we done

DIVIDED LOYALTIES
When I was young and growing up
I’d watch hockey on t.v.
Saturday night I’d stay up late
With my family
My momma was a Leaf’s fan
My dad cheered for the Habs
And when they’d win we’d celebrate
It was the best time that we had
We cheered
for the Habs and we cheered for the Leafs
We prayed
they’d never lose
But when they
played each other
It was difficult
to choose
We cheered
for the Habs and we cheered for the Leafs
I cheered
for Bobby Orr
For he was
a greater player
Than anyone
before
In high school I would walk the halls
And let everybody know
That Lafleur scored the winning goal
And Dryden stole the show
When Sittler had a ten point night
I’d wear the white and blue
But the greatest game I ever saw
Was team Canada seventy two
Now I have a little son
He’s learning how to skate
He’s learning how to shoot and score
Like I did in sixty eight
He wears both hockey sweater
For everyone to see
He’s dough gilmour and the Rocket
He’s divided just like me
Now he cheers for Wayne Gretzky
He’s broken every record
He’s as great as great can be
