(Author’s Note: You know how you read a good book and you just don’t want it to end?  Well, this story was inspired by a romance novel I just finished reading.  I liked the characters so much and I wished the author would have just kept going on and on with their lives.  But since she didn’t, I decided to take over where she left off.  Course, I threw in a few spankings too.  {Grins} sam)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Greg sat in the study, looking over some papers.  He was so glad to be home.  The past two weeks had been really hard on him, but especially his brand new wife and the kids.  Greg chuckled to himself.  If you had asked him six months before if his life would drastically change this much, he would have thought you were crazy.
Greg looked at his wrists and ankles, so glad to not see chains around them.  He couldn’t believe he had had to go back to prison.  It had seemed so unfair.  And Anna had promised he wouldn’t have to go back.  It was just a technicality; she had assured him.  Thankfully this time she was right.
And now here he was, sitting in his father in law’s study in a mansion, in San Francisco, a free man.  Finally.  And he was married.  Plus, he and Anna were adopting the three kids.  They were orphans, anyway, even before the ship sunk.
Greg thought back to a few months before when he had escaped from prison.  He had stowed away on the beautiful ocean liner.  Who knew it would sink only a short time later?  He managed to get out alive, and saved Anna, the beautiful woman he had seen on the deck earlier that day.  He also saved Timothy, Elysia, and Kaitlyn.  And the goat.
Greg had hated kids; Greg had hated women, and people in general.  He had always been a loner, a thief, a hard man to be around.  He hadn’t killed the man they said he did, and had spent four years in a foreign prison, for nothing.
But all that was behind him now.  After being stranded on the deserted island with Anna and the kids, he had changed.  He had fallen in love with both Anna, and with the kids.  And here he was.
“Greg?” he was startled out of his thoughts, by Elysia, who had just walked into the room.  She was nine, but acted much younger.  The poor girl had lost both her parents in an accident just months before.  She had been on the ship on her way to an orphanage.  When they were on the island, Greg and Anna promised each other they would never let these kids be anywhere but with them.
Greg smiled at her.  “Yes, Elly?”  Elly was her nickname.  In the beginning only Timmy called her that, but it had become pretty popular now, and she found she liked it better.
Elly stood in front of Greg and looked into his face.  He smiled down at her.  It wasn’t that long ago that he didn’t understand kids at all.  Well now he still didn’t, but he liked them at least.
“What is it, sweetie?”
Elly startled Greg by throwing herself into his lap and wrapping her arms around his neck and holding on tight.  He smiled and snuggled her and hugged her tight to him.
“I’m just so glad you’re home!” she squealed.
He smiled.  He nodded his head and said, “And I’m happy to be home.”
“Greg?”
“Yes, Elly?”
“Do you think it would be okay if I called you ‘Daddy’?”
Greg couldn’t believe it but he actually had tears in his eyes.  He blinked them away and smiled down at this beautiful young girl.  “I think that would be wonderful,” he told her.
She smiled real wide.  But then she frowned.  “Daddy?”
Greg smiled.  He liked hearing her call him that.  Timmy had already tried it out on him the day he and Anna had gotten married.  Plus, Katie had been calling him that for weeks.  She wasn’t even two yet and had no idea he and Anna weren’t her real parents.
“Yes, Elly?”
Elly bit her lip and looked up at Greg.  “I kinda did something really bad while you were gone.”
“You did, huh?” he asked.  He pulled her away from his chest and made her look right up at him.  “What did you do?”
“I uh, well, I,” Elly paused.  “I swiped a candy bar from the corner store, sir.”
Greg frowned.  Just because he had been a thief his entire life, and was now making amends at the age of 40, didn’t mean he thought it would be okay for Elly to follow in his footsteps.  Besides, he hadn’t known any other way of life.
She did.  He looked down at her, frowning.  “Why did you do that, Elysia?”
Elly shrugged.  “I dunno.  I just wanted it.”
“Don’t you think if you had asked Anna for the money she would have given it to you? Or your Grandpa?”
Elly nodded.  “Yeah, I guess so.”
Greg sighed.  He knew what he had to do.  He hadn’t spanked Elly the whole time they were on the island.  He had spanked Timothy once, though, and Elly had watched him.  That was when Timmy had cut all the hairs off of Elly’s goat.
“You know that stealing is wrong, don’t you, Elysia?”
Elly nodded again.  “Yes, I know.  I don’t know why I did it, but I just did.”
“Umm hmm, and where is this candy bar now?”
“I ate it, Daddy,” Elly admitted.  “But I still have the wrapper.”
She slipped out of Greg’s lap and pulled him toward her room.  He went with her willingly, where she showed him the candy wrapper.  It was from a Hershey’s bar with almonds.  He smiled.  Those were his favorite kind.
He sat on the edge of her bed.  He looked around the room and smiled.  This room had belonged to Anna when she was a little girl.  It was all pink and white and very feminine.  Anna knew Elly would like living in her old room.
But now Greg just stared at Elly.  “You know what you have to do, don’t you?”
She shook her head no.
He nodded at the wrapper.  “Tomorrow you’ll go down to the corner store and tell the manager what you did.  And you’ll pay for the candy.”
“NOOOOOOOOO!” Elly shouted.  “No, Daddy, I can’t do that!” she cried.
“You can’t? Why not?” he asked.
“I, uh, I just can’t.  I’d be too embarrassed.”
“You weren’t too embarrassed to steal the candy, Elysia.”
“I know.  But, um, well, I was scared.  And I’d be too scared to go tell Mr. Amos the truth.”
“Well, I’m sorry but that’s what you must do.  Now, no more arguing with me.  Come here.”
Elly had a feeling she knew what was coming.  She had known when she went into the study that Greg, err, her daddy might spank her.  She walked over to him slowly and looked into his face.  “Am I getting a spanking?”
Greg nodded.  “Yes, you are.  Stealing is a very naughty thing to do.  I won’t allow you to steal.  We have money if you need to buy things.”
“But you used to!” she blurted out.
Greg sighed.  Maybe the kids knowing about his past wasn’t such a great thing, after all.  Then again, maybe it was.  “Yes, I did.  And I spent time in prison, too.  Do you want to go to prison, Elysia?”
She shook her head.  “N-no.”
“No, I didn’t think so.  You know I didn’t have a mom or a dad who cared about me when I was your age.  Maybe if I had someone to correct me back then, I wouldn’t have ended up where I did.  You think?”
Elly nodded.  She didn’t trust herself to speak.  She was feeling all kinds of weird feelings right then.  She looked up at her daddy.  “I’m sorry I stole the candy bar.”
Greg pulled Elly to her and hugged her tight.  “I know you are, sweetie.  And I’m sorry I have to punish you, but we have to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.  All right?”
“Yes, Daddy.”
Greg smiled at her.  Then he hugged her again.  “You’re being very brave for your first spanking.  You know it’s going to hurt, don’t you?”
Elly nodded her head again.  In reality it wasn’t her first spanking.  She had gotten spanked by her mama and papa a few times.  But it was her first spanking by Greg, and she knew he spanked hard.  She had watched him spank Timmy when he had shaved down her goat on the island.
Without hesitating any more, Greg pulled Elly across his lap.  He then pulled down both her pants and her panties.  He raised his hand into the air and brought it down sharply on her backside several times.
{Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!}
“Owwwwwwwwwww! Dadddddddddddddy, I’m sorrrrrrrrrrry!” Elly cried out.
Greg continued to spank Elly and lecture her, too.
“You know much better {Smack!} {Smack!} than to steal, young lady.  {Smack!} {Smack!} You are old enough {Smack!} {Smack!} to know better.  {Smack!} {Smack!} You need to set{Smack!} {Smack!} a better example {Smack!} {Smack!} for your brother and sister.” {Smack!} {Smack!}
“Owwwwwwww! Okaaaaaaaaaaaay!” she cried.  She was sobbing now, but Greg did not let up.
“I know {Smack!} {Smack!} you will not {Smack!} {Smack!} do this again, Elysia, {Smack!} {Smack!} or I will have {Smack!} {Smack!} to use {Smack!} {Smack!} your hairbrush.  {Smack!} {Smack!} Is that understood?” {Smack!} {Smack!}
“Yesssssssssss, owwwwwwwwww, Daddddddddddy, I’m sorrrrrrrrry!” Elly sobbed.
“Good,” Greg said, ending her spanking with several loud smacks to her sit spot.  {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!}  “Then we are done here.”
Greg stood Elly up and gently pulled her panties back up.  It hurt to have them rub against her bottom.  He put her pants over the dressing chair in the room.  It would soon be bedtime anyway.  He then pulled her into his lap and held her tight.  She sobbed against his shoulder and chest and held onto him with all her might.
“I’m s-s-sorrrrrrrry!” she wailed.
“I know, baby, I know you are.  And I’m sorry I had to spank you so hard.”  Greg pulled her away from him and looked into her eyes.  “But I want to make sure you do not end up living like I did.  Got that?”
“Yes, Daddy,” she said, snuggling back into his chest.  Greg held her tight to him and kissed her neck.
This is how Anna found them a short time later.  “Everything okay?” she asked quietly.
Greg nodded.  Elly was almost asleep in his arms.  Apparently she had had a very busy day.
He stood up and carefully laid her down on the big soft bed.  Anna helped him change her into her pajamas.  She never even woke up.  The two of them kissed her on the forehead and quietly tiptoed out of the room.
Greg filled Anna in on what had happened.  She was shocked to learn that Elly would steal candy, or even anything.  Being a lawyer was very important to Anna, and she wouldn’t hear of anyone close to her stealing.  She reminded herself to have a long talk with both of the older ones about obeying the laws.
Anna put her arms around her husband.  She loved having him home.  She loved being married, even though it had only been less than a month.  He kissed her passionately on the lips.
“Where are Timmy and Katie?”
“Katie fell asleep a while ago.  She’s in the nursery,” Anna informed him.  She smiled because right now it was just a spare bedroom.  But as soon as the weekend was over, they were having the men come in and decorate it.  “And Timmy is waiting for you to go tuck him in.  He specifically asked for you.”
Greg smiled.  Timothy had been his weak spot.  When they were on the island and he hated kids, he and Timmy started hanging out together a lot.  It was there they had formed a friendship.  Now he just couldn’t get enough of that adorable five year old.
He gave Anna one last kiss and walked into Timmy’s bedroom.  He smiled as he saw Timmy curled up under the covers, clutching onto the stuffed monkey that his grandfather had given him.
Timmy was half asleep but he put his arms up to Greg and hugged him tight.  “Night, son,” Greg said.
“Night, Daddy.”
The end.
(for now, anyway.  I like these characters.  Maybe I’ll write a sequel.)
