Magic Kingdom…a “Beckie and Benny” story (F/mf)

Ó 2003 by Sampast

Deidre Phillips was a 26-year-old single mother.  Her husband hadn’t been in the picture for quite some time.  But that was okay with her.  That just meant that Dee, as her friends called her, had her 4 year old twins, Beckie, and Benny, all to herself.  And that was just the way she liked it.

Dee and the twins lived in a beautiful housing complex right on the Disney grounds, in Florida.  Dee loved her job as a cashier in the little shoppe on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.  She had a car but she usually took the bus or shuttle right onto the lot.  The twins were there often, as well.  Everyone who was anyone in Disney World knew Beckie and Benny.

Beckie was a pretty little girl.  She had long, brown, curly locks of hair.  She had really long eyelashes too.  So did Benny.  Deidre was always getting compliments about the twins’ long eyelashes.  Benny was adorable.  Dee kept his hair on the short side, but it, too, had curly locks.  She loved to run her fingers through the little boy’s hair.

Not only did everyone on the Magic Kingdom lot know the twins, but also they loved them.  Other MK employees fought over who was going to take the twins around.  Beckie and Benny had been on all the rides a million times, but they never got tired of them.  They especially loved “It’s a Small World” and the Dumbo rides.  Dee didn’t mind her friends spoiling the twins.  They were good kids, for the most part.

Beckie and Benny got to brag at pre-school that they were close personal friends of Mickey Mouse.  They had met the different people who wore the costume, but somehow whenever the twins saw Mickey Mouse, they insisted he was a real mouse, just awfully big and very quiet.  Beckie and Benny had never heard Mickey actually talk, but they liked to talk to him and watch him wave.

One afternoon, while Beckie and Benny sat waiting for their mom to pick them up from pre-school, Benny said, “I can’t wait to go to MK today.  Jeff, you know the one who works at Space Mountain? Him said he was gonna take me in the back so I could see how they make the scary sounds.”

Beckie nodded.  “Cool, Benny.  I not like that, though.  I wanna help Mommy in the store, and maybe go on ‘It’s a Small World.’  That one’s my favorite.”

“I know, sis,” Benny said, looking again for Mommy’s car.

“You sure her is taking the car aday?” Benny asked a short time later.

“I fink so.  Her said her was gonna pick us up and take us to work with her.”  Beckie looked across the street and jumped up.  “Is that her?”

Benny looked to see where his sister was pointing.  “I fink so, but I not sure.”

Beckie sighed.  “I just wanna get dere already.  Maybe Mommy forgotted to pick us up, Benny.  What if her is already at work?”

“Ya fink, sis?” Benny asked, seriously.  “We could take the bus and meet her there.  I know where it is.”

“I do too,” Beckie said.  Then remembering something, Beckie took from her schoolbag a small plastic card.  “And I has my bus pass wif me.  So let’s go!”

Benny looked over at Mrs. Murphy, the volunteer assigned to watch the kids get dismissed and whispered to Beckie, “What ‘bout her?”

Beckie put her hands on her hips and thought for a few minutes.  Then she brightened up.  She was always getting good ideas.  She took her brother’s hand and walked over to the teacher.

“Mrs. Murphy? Mrs. Murphy!” she said again louder.  The woman was getting on in years and sometimes got a little deaf.  The older woman looked at the twins and smiled.  “Yes?” she asked.

“Our mommy’s over there.  See her?” Beckie said, pointing.  Beckie smiled at Benny, because she knew, in addition to being a little hard of hearing, the woman couldn’t see very far.

Mrs. Murphy squinted and looked to where Beckie was pointing.  Beckie waved at the person who really was over there and the person waved back.  Mrs. Murphy saw the wave and smiled.  “Okay, kids, see you tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow’s Saturday, Mrs. Murphy!” Benny said, giggling.

“Yeah, see you on Monday, Mrs. Murphy!”  Beckie grabbed Benny’s hand again and the two of them started to run.  Beckie was giggling hard.  Neither of them stopped or turned around until they got to the bus stop.  Luckily they didn’t have to cross any streets.  That might have been dangerous.

Beckie didn’t even think twice about what they were doing.  Deidre would have a fit when she found out, but Beckie wasn’t even thinking about her mother’s reaction.  The two of them were very precocious kids; everyone thought so.  They were often shocked to find out that the twins were only four.

Without blinking an eye, Beckie showed the bus driver her bus pass.  He didn’t even look at it.  Joey showed him his mom’s Blockbuster video card, which was the only thing he had in his school bag.  The man never said a word.  Cracking up, the kids went to sit in the back of the bus.  They liked it back there because it was bumpy.

“This is so cool,” Beckie told Benny.  “We never did this afore.”

“Nope, not by ourselves,” Benny said.  But they weren’t worried, not in the least.  Far from their minds were muggers and kidnappers and murderers.  They were just two little four year olds out for the afternoon, on the bus, to visit their mom at work, at the Magic Kingdom.  They knew this bus route like the backs of their hands.

When the bus came to their stop, Beckie took Benny’s hand and hopped off the bus.  They waved to the bus driver and he actually waved back.  They got right on the sidewalk and walked to the front entrance of the theme park.  When they got there, the twins waved at the woman at the booth.  She waved back and they walked right in.  She didn’t even look for their mom; just figured Deidre was with them.

Beckie looked at Benny and said, “Okay, where to, first? Wanna find Mommy?”

“Okay,” her brother said.

They passed the information booth, which had the maps and stuff.  But Benny and Beckie didn’t need a map to get around the park.  They knew the park inside and out.

“Wait, let’s go on the train first,” Benny said.  It was mostly for tourists and people who had never been to the park before.  The conductor pointed things out and people learned where things were.  But Benny liked the train.

“Hiya, Beckie, hiya Benny,” Chris said.  Chris took off his conductor’s hat and put it on Benny’s head.  “You want to sit up front with me?”

“Okay,” the little ones said, smiling.  No one questioned that the two of them were alone.  They were just so used to seeing Benny and Beckie around the park a lot.  Chris probably figured Dee was somewhere close.  He looked for her but there was such a crowd, he didn’t see her.  He never thought twice about it.

Since Benny got to wear Chris’ hat, he let Beckie blow the train whistle both times the train stopped.  When they got back to Main Street, Beckie and Benny thanked Chris and ran to find their mom.  But when they got to her store, there was a sign.  They couldn’t read yet, but they knew it was the sign their mommy put up when she took a break.

“You fink her is looking for us, sis?” Benny asked, the first time growing a little concerned that their mom didn’t know where they were.

“Maybe.  Let’s find her first.  Then her’ll be surprised,” Beckie suggested.

Not knowing what else to do, Benny nodded.

But after walking around for about twenty minutes, the kids ran out of places to look.  “Let’s just go to ‘It’s a Small World,’ Benny.  I wanna ride on the boats.”

“Okay,” Benny said.  He was a very agreeable child, and hardly ever argued about anything, especially with Beckie.  The two of them almost never fought.

After ‘ISW’, the twins went on the rest of the rides in Fantasy Land.  They meant to go looking for their mom, but they had never been free in the Magic Kingdom before, and being alone, they found they had to try to go everywhere.  By this time, of course, Deidre was beside herself with worry.  She had gone to the pre-school and after learning they had ‘left’, had called the police.  She only went to the MK lot after not knowing what else to do or where to go.

It was then, of course, that several MK employees told her they had seen the twins.  She had a walkie-talkie and was walking around the park.  But every time the twins were spotted, by the time Dee got there, they were gone again.  Finally, Dee ordered that the next employee to spot them should hold them there until she got there.  She also notified the police that they had sort of been found, and would be spoken to.  Boy, would they be spoken to, Dee thought to herself.

The walkie-talkie suddenly lit up.  “Deidre?”

Dee pushed the button on the walkie-talkie and semi-hysterically answered, “Yes, I’m here!”

“It’s me, Jim.  They just got on the boats at ‘ISW’ again.  I’ll be there when they get off and will hold them for you.”

“Oh, thank god!” Dee replied.  “Okay, I’m on my way.”

She hurried across the park to ‘It’s a Small World.’  She knew if Beckie could, she would move in there.  Dee couldn’t stand that ride.  That song would stick in her head the whole night through.  She hated that.

Dee stood with Jim as the ride came to an end.  The song was already playing in her head and she knew there was nothing she could do about it.  Then she saw them; their brown curly locks bobbing up and down as the boat came to rest at the dock.  They were helped off by Jim, and patted on the heads.  They looked as if they didn’t have a care in the world.

“Mommmmmmmmmmy!” Beckie shouted, so excited when she saw Dee.  The little girl ran to her mom.  Dee scooped her up in her arms and held her tight.  She was crying.  “Mommy? Why is you crying?”

Benny came over, and Dee scooped him up too.  She wrapped her arms around both kids and just held them.  Jim led them over to the side so they wouldn’t get run over by hoards of people.

“You okay, Mommy? Did ya wanna ride wif us? We thought you didn’t like this ride,” Benny said, confused.

When Dee managed to catch her breath, she set both kids down and just looked at them.  Jim patted her shoulder and walked away.  “I’m just so glad you’re all right,” she finally said.

Benny and Beckie looked at each other and shrugged.  “Why wouldn’t we be all right, Mommy?”

“Yeah, we’re fine, Mommy.”

Dee took them each by the hands and started to walk away from the ride.  “Well, I’m glad about that, but you won’t be later when I finish speaking to you two.  You scared me half to death with this little stunt you pulled.”

Deidre led them to a nearby bench and sat them down on it.  The twins looked at each other and at their mom again.  They didn’t know what they had done wrong.  Not yet anyway.

“What’d we do, Mommy?” Benny finally asked.

Dee looked at them and frowned.  “You two really have no idea what you did, do you?”

They both shook their heads no and she sighed.  This was going to be more difficult than she thought.  “Well, let’s go home and we’ll talk about it.”

“Awwww, nooooo!” Benny cried.  “We don’t wanna go home!”

“And we definitely don’t wanna TALK, Mommy!” Beckie cried, getting an idea that they were in for one of those grown-up types of talks that left them staring at the carpet.

“We wanna stay here and play while you work, Mommy,” Benny said sadly, sticking his lower lip out real far.

“Well, I’m not working tonight.  And I’m not in the mood to play.  You two disappeared from preschool.  I don’t know how you got to the lot, but then you walked around all by yourselves and you scared me half to death.  You’re both in really big trouble!”

Both twins started to cry.  Beckie whispered, “We took the bus, Mommy.”

Dee looked at Beckie.  “You did what?  Oh, no, that wasn’t good, Rebecca.”

Deidre was completely exasperated.  It was times like these when she wished Will was still in the picture.  He could take care of their naughty bottoms and she could just snuggle them up like she wanted to do.  But instead she was going to have to punish both of them, and all she wanted to do was hold them and thank god that they had been found, safe and sound.

On the short ride back to their house, Beckie and Benny told their mom all the things they had done.  She listened but she sighed every now and then, and the twins knew it was no use; they were both getting spankings when they got home.

Dee pulled into the driveway and unbuckled the kids from their car seats.  She held their hands as they walked into the house.  She looked at them and said sternly, “I want you both in your room, standing in the corner, separate corners,” she added.  “I’ll be up in a few minutes.”

The twins shared a room.  They didn’t have to; there was plenty of room for them to each have their own room, but they wanted to be together.  One time they tried having separate rooms but Beckie and Benny missed each other so much, that they went back together.  Dee turned the extra bedroom into a playroom for them.  It was nice.

But now they walked sadly into the bedroom they shared.  Beckie went into one corner and Benny into another.  They barely noticed the animals that Dee and her friends had painted on the walls.  It was a jungle, and the kids loved living in it.  Beckie stood by the giraffe, and just wished she could climb up his long neck.  Benny looked up at the monkey and wished he could swing from a vine far away from there at that moment.

Just that afternoon the twins had been so happy running around and riding the different rides.  They had gone on Snow White’s Scary Adventures, but Benny had to hold Beckie’s hand real tight during that one, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Cinderella’s Golden Carousel, Peter Pan’s Flight, the Mad Tea Party, although Benny had gotten really dizzy on it, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.  Not to mention that they went on ‘ISW’ six times.  They never got tired of that song.

Finally, Beckie heard her mom’s footsteps on the stairs and sneaked a peek at her brother.  He had done the same thing.  They sometimes had a certain connection that only they felt.  Beckie squeezed her hand and Benny did too, as if they were squeezing each other’s hands.

Dee came into the twins’ room and went and sat on Beckie’s bed.  “Come here, both of you.”  She watched as the two four-year-olds walked slowly over to her.  “I want you both to know how glad I am that you’re both safe.  I was so very scared.”

Neither of them said anything.  Deidre sighed and continued, “I know you don’t realize that what you did was wrong, but I’m going to try to explain it to you.  And then I’m afraid you’re both going to get very big spankings.”

Benny’s lower lip started to quiver.  “Pl-please, Mommmmy!” he cried.

Deidre took his little hand in hers.  Then she took one of Beckie’s hands in hers and held them tight.  “What you two did today was very, very dangerous.  You could have gotten lost, or hurt, or a bad man or woman could have taken you both away from me.  And then I would have been so sad.”

Both of the twins’ jaws dropped open.  They had apparently not thought of these possibilities.  Beckie started to cry.  Benny was already crying.  “I not want that to happen, Mommy,” Beckie said.

“No, I don't want that to happen either. That's why you need to only go places with me, or with someone I know and trust.  A grown up someone.”

“Is you mad at us?” Benny asked, through his tears.

“I'm not mad, but I'm very scared and worried, 'cause when I don't know where you are, all kinds of scary thoughts go through my head. You could get really, really hurt.  I’m very relieved that you two are both safe.”

“We didn’t mean to scare you, Mommy,” Beckie said.  “We just was gonna surprise you at work, that’s all!”

“Well, I don’t want you to ever, ever, ever do something like that again.  I don’t particularly like that you fooled Mrs. Murphy either.  You’ll have to apologize to her on Monday, and let her know I punished you for it.”

Beckie sighed.  Benny was still crying.  “I don’t wanna spanking!” he said.

“Well, you’re both getting one.  Now let’s talk about why you shouldn’t have done what you did,” Dee said.  This was rougher than she first thought.  Neither twin seemed to realize what could have happened.  She wasn’t even sure they were sorry.

She started to repeat what could have happened to them.  Deidre wanted to make sure they understood how much danger they had put themselves into.

“I don’t wanna be taked away!” Beckie cried.

Dee held both twins tight as they talked.  She wanted to assure them that they were loved, but she also knew they had to discuss what could have happened.  “Of course not, sweetie.  I don’t want that to happen, either.  But that's what can happen if you go places without Mommy.”

Benny looked up at his mom; his lower lip still quivering.  “You not let no one take us, will you, Mommy?”

“Oh, no, Bennybunny.  You and your sister are my little bunnies.  I will never let anyone take either of you.  But you can not go to places like the Magic Kingdom or the park without me.”

Both kids nodded.  They were finally understanding that what they had done was a bad thing.  Dee sighed.  The part she was not looking forward to at all was finally there.  “You know that you two are in super-big trouble, right?”

Beckie nodded.  Dee looked at Benny.  “I not wanna be in troubles.”

“I know, bunnybaby, but this was a very, very naughty thing that you and Beckiebunny did,” Dee said calmly.  She had been calling them her bunnies since they were babies.  They loved the nicknames.

Beckie, who had been pretty calm up until that moment suddenly realized what was happening when she saw her mother take a wooden spoon from behind her back.  Beckie suddenly placed both hands on her bottom and cried out, “Noooooooo!”

“Rebecca Jill, you need to be punished, because you can not do this again. You can't forget and do it again, so Mommy has to help you remember that this is very, very naughty.”

“Nooooo!” Beckie cried.  “I’ll memberrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!”

“Rebecca, don’t make things worse.  Benjamin, please go back to the corner while I speak with your sister.”

Benny was already crying, but he ran right to the corner, relieved he wouldn’t have to go first.  He hated hearing his sister get spanked.  He hated hearing her cry.  He put his hands over his ears and sat in the corner, looking at the vines at the bottom of the jungle.

Dee pushed Beckie’s shorts and panties down and brought her gently over her lap.

“Nooooo, Mommmmmy, noooooo!” the little girl cried, trying to pull her panties back up.

This was a big no-no and Dee said sharply, “Rebecca! You know better than that!” she said, holding Beckie’s hands out of the way.

Having to do this hurt Dee almost as much as for them to feel it, but she knew that she needed to do it; it was her job as a parent.  She had to make sure they learned right from wrong and grew up right.

Dee started to spank her daughter’s bare bottom with just her hand. “Rebecca Jill, {Spank! Spank!} you will {Spank! Spank!} not go places {Spank! Spank!} without {Spank! Spank!} Mommy.” {Spank! Spank!}

“Owwwwwwwww!” Beckie cried.  “Mommmmy, it hurtttttttts!”

“I know it hurts, bunnybaby, but you have to learn,” Dee explained, continuing to spank Beckie.

{Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank!}

“Owwwwwwwwww! I’s sorrrrrrrrrrrrry!”

“What are you sorry for, Rebecca?” her mom asked, still spanking.

{Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank! Spank!}

Beckie was sobbing.  She tried to remember all that her mommy had said.  “I’s sorrrry we leaved school and lied to Mrs. Murphy.  And I’s sorry we taked the bus and went to MK by ourselves!” she sobbed.

Deidre nodded, but then picked up the spoon from the bed.  Beckie felt a new feeling on her already sore bottom.  {Swat! Swat! Swat!}

“Owwwwwwwwwwwwieeeeeeeee!” she cried.  “Mommmmmmmmy, nooooooooo!”

{Swat! Swat! Swat! Swat! Swat! Swat!} “You will never do anything like this again, Rebecca Jill, will you?”

“Noooooooooo, ma’aaaaammmmmmmmmm!”

Deidre put down the spoon and finished up with a few more swats on Beckie’s sitspot.  She wanted to make sure the little girl felt this for several hours.  {Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!}

Dee stopped spanking and gently rubbed her daughter’s bottom.  Beckie wasn’t wailing anymore, but was sobbing quietly.  She started to hiccup and sniffle.  Deidre pulled the little girl up onto her lap and quickly rubbed her back and bottom.  “There, there, babybunny, it’s all over now.”  Deidre hoped Beckie did not see the tears falling down her own face.

She cuddled Beckie for quite a while.  When she thought the child had recovered well enough, she laid her on her bed.  Then sighing, she looked at her son in the corner.  “Come here, Bennybunny.”

Benny walked slowly over to his mom.  His tears had dried on his face, but Deidre knew that soon there’d be fresh ones to take their place.  She hated having to spank both of them this way, but she knew she had to.  Benny sometimes was more sensitive than Beckie, but she knew she had to do it.  She couldn’t punish one and not the other.  Even though they had both admitted that going to MK by bus was Beckie’s idea, and Beckie had made up the tale to tell Mrs. Murphy.

“Can you tell Mommy why you’re getting a spanking?” she asked.

Benny nodded.  “Cuz me and Beckie goed to MK by ourselves on the bus and walked around wifout a growd-up and it was dangerous.”

Dee smiled because she was so proud that Benny could say all that in one sentence.  But now there was work to be done.  “That’s right, babybunny, and that was very naughty.”

That said, Dee pushed Benny’s shorts and underwear down and guided him over her lap.  She raised her hand and brought it down sharply on the boy’s bare bottom.  {Smack! Smack!}  {Smack! Smack!}  {Smack! Smack!}  {Smack! Smack!}

“Owwwwwwwwwww!” Benny cried.  “Owwwwie, Mommy, it hurrrrrrrrrts!”

“Benjamin Jay, {Smack! Smack!} you will {Smack! Smack!} not go places {Smack! Smack!} without {Smack! Smack!} Mommy.” {Smack! Smack!}

“Owwwwwww, okaaaaaaaaaay!” Benny cried.

But Dee did not stop, as much as she wanted to.  She continued with just her hand.  {Smack! Smack!}  {Smack! Smack!}  {Smack! Smack!}  {Smack! Smack!}

Benny was sobbing.  He wanted to put his hands back so badly, but he knew he couldn’t.  His mommy would not like that.

And even though Deidre’s hands were shaking, she reached for the spoon.  “This is to help you remember that you are not to ever do anything like this again, little boy!”

{Swat! Swat!}  {Swat! Swat!}  {Swat! Swat!}  {Swat! Swat!}

“OWWWWWWWWWW!” Benny howled.

At that, Dee put down the spoon.  She didn’t add any on his sitspot, because she knew he had had enough.  She pulled him up on her lap and held him tight, hugging him and rubbing his back and his bottom.  “There, there, babyboy.  It’s all over now.  Mommy will always love you.”

Deidre waited until her son had calmed down and then she called out to Beckie, “Come here, angelgirl.”

Beckie came over to her brother’s bed and climbed up.  Dee leaned back against the wall and held both of them against her chest, hugging them and cradling them, and rubbing their backs and bottoms.  They sat that way for a very long time.

After a while, Dee spoke, “I love you both very much.  And it hurts Mommy really badly to have to spank you like that.  But it also hurts Mommy to be soooooo very scared and worried and not know where you are.”

Both children nodded.  They were spent.

Benny looked up at his mom after a while and noticed a tear going down her face.  He nudged Beckie to look too.  “Mommy? You’s crying too?” she asked.

Dee nodded.  Benny said, “How come?”

“Because I don’t like to have to spank you two, and also because I was so scared earlier.”

“But Mommy? We was safe.  Me and Benny was together.”

“Yeah, and asides we’re not gonna do it again,” Benny added.

Deidre smiled.  “Well being together doesn't necessarily make you safe, bunnybaby.  But I'm very glad you're not going to do it again.”

“We not,” Beckie said.  “Mommy? I love you.”

“I love you, too, Beckiebunny.  And I love you, too, Bennybunny.”

“I love you, too, Mommy,” Benny said.  Then he turned to his sister and said, “I love you, Beckie.”

“I love you, Benny.”

It was like a rerun of The Waltons.  The kids hugged their mommy tight and they sat that way for a long time before getting on with their lives.

The end.
