La-La...a “Lizzie” story (F/f, M/f)

chapter five

(c) 2002 by Sampast

“Elizabeth, please come into the living room,” Dominic said.

Lizzie walked in slowly.  “Whatever it is, I didn’t do it.  I mean, I didn’t mean to do it.”

Both Dom and Melinda had to stifle a laugh.  “No, you’re not in trouble, sweetie,” Dom said.  “Climb on up.”  He patted the sofa.

Lizzie climbed onto the couch and looked at Dominic and Melinda.  She loved seeing them together.  She loved that they were engaged.  They even had a date picked out for the wedding.  It wasn’t going to be until the end of June, though, when school let out.  That was months away.

Dominic had finally given up his apartment.  He was never there anyway.  Lizzie loved that he was there every night to tuck her in, and that he was there every morning to give her breakfast.  Of course, that also meant she had to eat healthy EVERY morning.  And it also meant that Dom was around more to catch her doing naughty things.

She had gotten quite a few spankings since Dom had moved in permanently.  But things were settling down now.  She was getting used to the new extra rules.  Now she looked up at this man who she had truly begun to consider her daddy and wondered what he was going to tell her.

“My big sister, Lydia, is coming to visit, Lizzie,” Dom said.

She wasn’t sure what she thought he was going to say, but it certainly wasn’t that.  Lizzie didn’t even know that Dom had a big sister.  “Yeah?”

“Yes.  And she is very strict, so I want you on your best behavior while she’s here.”

“When’s she comin?” Lizzie asked.

“Tomorrow.  She’s staying at a hotel, but she’ll have dinner with us every night.  And she’ll be in town for a week.”

“Cool,” Lizzie said.

Dominic looked at Melinda, who smiled.  “Is that it?” Lizzie asked.

They nodded.  As Lizzie slid off the couch and started to leave the room, Dom said, “I mean it, Elizabeth.  Your BEST behavior.”

“Okay, sir,” she said.  Then she ran to her room to play.

The next day Melinda and Dom gave Lizzie a million chores to do around the house...or at least it seemed like a million.  They were cleaning from dawn til noon, when the doorbell finally rang.

“She’s here!” Dom said.  He seemed a bit nervous, Lizzie thought.  She wondered how much older she was than him.  Maybe she used to spank him.  Lizzie giggled at the thought.  “Come on, Lizzie, come over here.”

Lizzie ran to the door as her big sister opened it.  “Hi, Lydia, I’m Melinda, it’s a pleasure to meet you.  Please come in!”

“Hello Melinda, it’s nice to meet you, too,” Lydia said, hugging her and stepping into the hallway.  She peered around Mel and saw her brother.  “There he is!”

“La-La!” he said with a smile.  She ran into his outstretched arms and the two siblings hugged.

Lizzie peeked up at them.  “La-La?” she thought.  She wondered how long it had been since they had seen each other.

Finally after hugging for an eternity, Dom stood back.  He smiled down at Lizzie and said to his sister.  “La-La, I’d like you to meet a very special friend of mine.”  He leaned down.  “This is Elizabeth.  We call her Lizzie.”

Lydia got down on her knees and looked at Lizzie.  “Hi there, Lizzie.  I’m Lydia, but you can call me Aunt La-La, if you’d like.”

Lizzie suddenly got very shy and ran to stand next to Melinda.  Mel seemed embarrassed and pulled Lizzie out from behind her and stood her in front.  “Say hi to Dom’s sister, sweetie.  She’s okay.”

“Hi,” Lizzie said shyly.  Then she looked up at Dominic.  “How come you call her La-La?”

Dom smiled.  It seemed so silly now, but he had called her that his entire life.  “Well, when I was a little boy, I couldn’t say ‘Lydia’, it came out ‘La-La’ and the name just stuck.  Almost everyone in the family calls her that now, too.”

Everyone laughed.  Lydia came into the room and the grownups talked.  After awhile, Lizzie felt better about the stranger and showed her her room and all her animals.  They were all getting along fine.

That night, they all went out for pizza.  During the week, Lydia did lots of shopping and sight-seeing during the day, and every night she came to the house for dinner.

At the end of the week, while Mel and Dom cleaned up the dishes in the kitchen, Lydia and Lizzie sat in the living room.  Lydia was showing the little girl her newest purchases.  “Oooh, what’s this, Aunt La-La?” Lizzie asked.  It hadn’t taken her long to adopt the name everyone else used.

“Oh, isn’t that neat!  I got it at this wonderful little shop in my hotel.”  She put the necklace on Lizzie.  “Go look in the mirror!”

Lizzie ran to the mirror and admired the necklace.  “It’s beautiful!” she exclaimed.  “I wish I had one like it!”

“You can have that one!” Lydia told her.

“I can? Thank you!”

“You’re welcome, sweetie.  I’ll pick myself up another one tomorrow.  They have lots of different kinds.  In fact, they have lots of neat things in this shop.  Too bad you have school tomorrow, or I’d let you come spend the day with me in my hotel.  You could go swimming and everything!”

“Oh, could I?” Lizzie asked.

Lydia pursed her lips.  “Oh, I don’t think so, baby.  I doubt your uncle and your sister would let you.”

Lizzie sighed.  She knew Lydia was right.  She didn’t even bother to ask.

“Maybe another time, sweetie.  The next time I’m in town.  Tomorrow night is my last night here.  Dom and Mel are taking me out for dinner.  They were going to get a babysitter for you, but maybe I’ll convince them to let you come.”

Lizzie smiled.  She loved Aunt La-La.  She wasn’t nearly as strict as Dominic had warned her about.  Why, the entire week she had only smacked Lizzie’s bottom twice.  And that was for being sassy when they were at McDonald’s.  Lizzie had almost forgotten all about it.

Lydia tucked Lizzie in that night.  She was almost as good a tucker inner as Dominic.  She had to work on her monster checking abilities though.  Right now Melinda held the top title for doing that.  As Lizzie drifted off to sleep, she thought about how much fun it would be to go to Aunt La-La’s hotel room and go swimming and go to the little shop with the neat necklaces.  Lizzie fingered the necklace she still wore around her neck and fell asleep.

When Lizzie woke up in the morning, she remembered again about Aunt La-La’s idea for her to come visit.  Oh, she wanted to do that more than anything.  All of a sudden, Lizzie realized she just HAD TO go.  She went to the bathroom and pretended to get ready for school.  She had her breakfast and made small talk with Dominic and her sister.

“Lizzie, let’s go!” Mel said.  “I’m running late, and I see the school bus turning onto the street.”

Dom was rushing around too.  Apparently they had overslept.  Dom did NOT like to be late.  “You studied for your spelling test, right?” he asked as he helped her on with her jacket.

“Uh huh, I know all the words,” Lizzie said assuredly.

“Okay, let’s go,” Dom said.  He ushered Lizzie out the door.  The bus sat at the corner.  Kids were already climbing on.  “Go on, sweetie, see you later.  I love you!”

Both Dom and Mel kissed Lizzie’s cheek and then each other.  They got into their respective cars and watched Lizzie walk to the bus stop.  She waved at them when she was almost there.  Lizzie got behind the kids and waited her turn.

“They must have been really late,” Lizzie thought to herself, as she saw them both drive off.  “Works well for me, though,” she thought.

When she was sure they had both turned the corner, Lizzie shouted to the bus driver, “I FORGOT SOMETHING!  I’ll have my sister drive me!”  The bus driver waved and Lizzie ran home.  She giggled the whole way.

Lizzie got to the house and took out her spare key, left over from the days when she used to let herself in after school.  She ran into the house and ran all around the house.  She loved being there by herself.  She hadn’t been alone since before Dominic had come into the picture.

She walked into the kitchen and saw the paper taped to the fridge with Aunt La-La’s number at the hotel.  She picked up the phone and dialed.  “Hi, Auntie! It’s me, Lizzie.  I asked my sister and she said I could spend the day with you since it’s your last day.”

“She did?” Lydia asked, sounding surprised.

“Uh huh.  I’d put her on but she just stepped into the shower.  I’m gonna go get my bathing suit ready.  Will you come pick me up, though? Melinda is late for work.”

Lydia tried to clear her head.  Would Melinda really allow Lizzie to skip school?  She wasn’t sure everything was on the up and up.  “Okay, sweetie, I’ll be there in half an hour.”

“Yay!” Lizzie almost shouted into the phone.  “See you soon, Aunt La-La.”

Lydia hung up the phone and continued getting dressed.  This just seemed very strange to her.  She knew how important school was, and she thought she knew how strict her brother was with the little girl.  She decided to double check with him and called his cell phone.

“Hello?” he said quickly.

“Dom? It’s La-La.”

“Hi, sis, I’m in a real hurry. What is it? Everything all right?”

“Yes, it’s just that, uh, well...” Lydia stopped.  She didn’t want him to think she was questioning him.

“What is it?” he repeated, making the final turn onto the block his office was on.

“Is everything okay for today, you know, with Lizzie?”

Dom got out of the car and got into the elevator that would take him to his floor.  He had a meeting with the boss in...he looked at his watch...seven minutes.

“Yeah, everything’s fine.  She’s all set to go!” he said.  “Listen, sis, I really have to go.  See you tonight?”

“Okay, Dom, I’ll see you later.  And...” but she was cut off.  Dom had reached his office.

Lydia shook her head.  “Okay, if he says so,” she thought.  She got ready and went to pick Lizzie up.

When she got there, Lizzie almost ran her down.  Lydia looked around.  It seemed too quiet.  “Where’s your sister?” she asked.

Lizzie smiled.  “Look!” she pointed down the street.  “Did you see that white car that just passed you?”

But Lydia shook her head.  “Oh,” Lizzie said.  “Lin said she was gonna wave as she drove past you.  She was REALLY late.”

“Okay,” Lydia said, but something didn’t feel right.  But she had talked to Dom.  She guessed it was okay.  She looked down at Lizzie, who smiled.  She was so excited.  Lydia pushed away the bad feelings and said, “Okay, you ready?”

Lizzie nodded.  She had been ready since six o’clock that morning.  She couldn’t wait.

And they had a wonderful day together.  They went into all the shops in the hotel.  Lydia spoiled Lizzie rotten...by buying her lots of treats.  They had lunch in the hotel dining room.  Lizzie was excited that it was an ‘all you can eat’ buffet.  She even got to make her own sundae for dessert.

Lydia looked at Lizzie’s sundae.  She had put every topping on the ice cream that they had.  “Ugh, I’m glad I’m not eating that.  Especially the gummibears on top.  Yuck!”

Lizzie smiled.  She thought the gummibears on top were the best part.  They walked around a little after lunch and then changed into their bathing suits and went swimming.  Lizzie splashed around and dived into the deep end.  Lydia said she swam like a fish.

Lizzie was fooling around in the shallow end and happened to look up at the clock.  She did a double take!  Could that really be the time?  Could it be 2:30 already?

“Um, Auntie? Is that clock right?” she asked.  Lizzie thought to herself that it was a good thing she had already learned to tell time in school.

Lydia looked at the clock.  She went to the side and checked it against her watch.  “Actually it’s a little off.  It’s almost quarter to 3.”

“OH NO!” Lizzie yelled, jumping up and climbing out of the pool.  “I have to get home.  I need to be home by 3:15.”

“You do? WHY?” Lydia asked.  “I just figured you’d stay with me until Dom and Melinda met us for dinner.  We’re going to eat in the hotel dining room.”  Lydia went on and on explaining the plans for the evening.  She had convinced her brother that Lizzie should be there on her last night in town.

But Lizzie was racing around trying to find her pool shoes.  She couldn’t believe she had let this happen.  If she weren’t in the house when Melinda got home, she’d be dead.

Lydia stood in the shallow end of the pool watching Lizzie run around.  Lizzie saw her there.  “C’mon, Auntie.  Let’s go!  You gotta drive me home!”

Neither of them moved for a minute.  Suddenly all of Lydia’s bad feelings returned.  She got out of the pool and made her way toward Lizzie.  She grabbed her towel and wrapped it around her.  Then she kneeled down and looked the little girl right in the face.

“Is there something you need to tell me, Lizzie?” she asked calmly.

“I, uh, no,” Lizzie said, glancing up at the clock again.  It was too late.  Melinda would be walking in their front door in a matter of minutes and Lizzie wouldn’t be there.  She wouldn’t be at the neighbor’s either, which is where she sometimes went when Melinda had to work late.  And she wouldn’t be in the after school program either...course it was Friday and they didn’t have it on Fridays.  And when Lin started calling all her friends, she wouldn’t be at any of their houses either.

Lizzie started to cry.  “I, I better just call home,” she said, turning away.

But Lydia turned Lizzie back towards her and said, “I think you had better tell ME the whole story, young lady.”

“I-I-I can’t,” Lizzie sobbed.  “You’re gonna be so mad at me.”

Lydia sat on one of the pool lounge chairs and pulled Lizzie in front of her.  She lifted the little girl’s chin and made her look straight at her.  “Your sister and my brother don’t know you’re here, do they?” she asked her straight out.

Lizzie shook her head.  How did she know?  Lydia sighed again.  Then she stood up.  “Okay, let’s go.  We both need to put some dry clothes on.  And then you need to call your sister so she doesn’t worry.  And then, Elizabeth, you and I are going to have a long talk.”

Gulping, Lizzie followed Aunt La-La back to her hotel room.  She didn’t think the talk was going to be her kind of talk.  She had an idea it was going to be Dominic’s kind of talk.

After a quick shower to get the chlorine out, Lizzie put on her clothes again.  Lydia directed her to the phone.  On the first ring, Melinda picked up.  “Hello?” she said, exasperated.

“Lin, it’s me,” Lizzie whispered.

“Lizzie, is that you? Where on earth are you?” Melinda cried.

After Lizzie told her sister where she was, Lydia took the phone away and spoke into it.  “No, I didn’t know.  I’m sorry, Melinda.  I believed her.  Yes, yes, I know.  No, why don’t you and Dom meet me here for dinner as planned? Yes, I’ll see you then.  Okay, bye.”  She hung up the phone.

Lizzie looked up at Aunt La-La.  “You’re really mad at me, huh?”

“Well, I’m pretty disappointed in you.  You told me a big lie.”

Lizzie nodded and started to cry again.  “I’s sorry, Auntie.  I just really, really wanted to come here today.  I didn’t think it was a big deal.”

“You don’t think skipping school and lying to me is a big deal?  You don’t think scaring your sister out of her mind when you weren’t home when she got there, is a big deal?”

Lizzie looked down.  She did know it was a big deal.  She was just hoping to get away with things.  “I’s sorry,” she cried, her lip quivering.  “I not do it again.”

“I won’t have you growing up thinking it’s okay to get out of something by telling untruths.  What you did today was completely inappropriate,” Lydia said.

Lizzie nodded.  She didn’t know if saying she was sorry again would help so she decided to just stay quiet.

Lydia sighed.  “I can not believe the trouble you went through to come here today, Elizabeth.  How many lies you told!  I’m afraid I’m going to have to be very harsh with you in my punishment.”

“Y-y-yes, ma’am,” Lizzie sobbed.

Lydia looked at the little girl and then opened up her arms.  Lizzie ran into them and Lydia just rocked her for a few minutes.  “I love you, Lizzie.”

“I love you, too, Auntie.”

“And because I love you, I want to make sure nothing like this happens ever again.”

Lizzie nodded and bit her lip again.  Lydia went and sat in the hotel desk chair.  She patted her lap and Lizzie walked to her.  “Over you go, baby.”

Lizzie bent over Aunt La-La’s lap and the older woman held her and positioned her just so.  She then leaned down and pulled down Lizzie’s pants and panties.  They dropped to her ankles.  Then Lydia raised her hand and brought it down sharply on Lizzie’s bottom.

Lizzie jumped.  She hadn’t thought the woman could spank so hard.

{Smack!} {Smack!} “I won’t {Smack!} tolerate {Smack!} fibbing, {Smack!} Elizabeth.”

“Owwwww, yes, ma’am!” Lizzie cried.

{Smack!} {Smack!} “You are a good girl.  {Smack!} {Smack!} I’m very surprised {Smack!} {Smack!} at you that you could do something {Smack!} {Smack!} this calculating and deliberate.  {Smack!} {Smack!} You knew very well what you were doing {Smack!} {Smack!} when you called me this morning. {Smack!} {Smack!} Didn’t you?”

“Owwwwwwwwww, yes, ma’am!  I’s sorrrrrrry!” Lizzie sobbed.

Lydia aimed for the little girl’s sit spot as she continued to rain the spanks down.  Lizzie wiggled around and tried to avoid her aunt’s hand but it didn’t work.

“There will be no more fibbing.  Is that understood?”

“Yes, ma’am.  Owwwwwiiiieeeee!” Lizzie cried.  She wasn’t sure but she thought maybe Aunt La-La spanked as hard as, or even harder than Uncle Dom.  She sure didn’t let up.

Finally when Lizzie didn’t think she could stand much more, Lydia stopped.  She rubbed Lizzie’s back and bottom.  “Okay, we’re finished here.  At least I am.  I don’t know if your uncle and sister will have something to add.”

Lizzie buckled at the thought.  She had done a bad thing.  She hadn’t just lied to Aunt La-La, but she had skipped school.  That was clearly a naughty thing and most definitely a spankable offense.  But she couldn’t think about that now.  Right now the most important thing was making the sting go away.  She reached back and rubbed her tushie.  It was hot to the touch.

“That hurt!” she cried.

“I know, baby,” Aunt La-La said soothingly.

“I’s really, really sorry, Auntie,” Lizzie said.  And she meant it to.  She had come to love this woman who wasn’t related to her at all by blood.

Lydia rubbed Lizzie’s back until she settled.  “I know you are, honey.”

Lizzie bit her lip again and looked up into Aunt La-La’s face.  She had a question but she was afraid to ask it.

“What is it, baby girl?” Lydia asked.  Now that she had been spanked, the older woman was no longer upset or angry.  She knew, however, that she would have to soothe Dominic when he got there.

“D-d-do you f-f-forgive m-me?”

“Oh yes, honey, I forgive you.  I love you very much.  Once a spanking is over, you have a clean slate again.  All right?”

Lizzie nodded and hugged Aunt La-La.  “I love you too.”

By the time Dominic and Melinda got to Lydia’s hotel room, Lizzie had had dinner in the room and had conked out in Lydia’s bed.  She had arranged for a hotel babysitter to come to the room at 8:00.

“She looks like such an angel when she’s asleep, doesn’t she?” Lydia asked.

“Oh yeah, some angel!” Dom stated.  He was still pretty angry and upset over what Lizzie had done, but he knew tonight was not the time to do anything about it.  Lizzie had already been punished for lying to Lydia.  She was sure to be sore for several hours.  But he knew that the next day he and the little girl would have a long discussion about skipping school.

For now though, all the adults went out to dinner.  Dom questioned Lydia during the appetizer.  “Didn’t you think it was odd that we would let her take off from school, La-La?”

“Yes, Dom, that’s why I called you on your cell phone,” she stated.

Dominic thought back to the call he had gotten.  He had forgotten all about it.  “Oh, right.  I thought you were talking about taking Lizzie to dinner here tonight.  I had no idea what she was plotting.”

“She can be very manipulative,” Mel stated.

“So we see,” Dom replied.

“I really am sorry,” Lydia said.  She turned to Melinda.  “I’m so sorry we worried you.”

“It’s okay.  It wasn’t your fault.  Dom and I are going to have to talk to Lizzie tomorrow.  But for now, let’s just enjoy the evening.  It’s your last night here.  Let’s not ruin it.”

“I’ll drink to that,” Dom said, raising his glass of wine.  “A toast.  To La-La!”

“Cheers!”  They all clinked their glasses.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day after Lydia was long gone, Dominic and Melinda sat Lizzie down on the sofa in the living room.  “You have a lot of explaining to do, young lady.”
Lizzie looked up at her uncle and sister.  She didn’t know where to begin.  “I’s sorry?” she queried.
“Are you sorry?” Melinda asked.
Lizzie nodded, but she didn’t really mean it.  She had really enjoyed her day with Aunt La-La, but of course she couldn’t tell them that.  She was just sorry she had been caught.  She was sorry, however, that she disappointed them so much.  For that, she started to cry.
Lizzie looked up at her uncle.  “Are you very mad at me, sir?”
“I’m not happy with you.  Not at all!”
“Me neither, little sis.  You really messed up this time,” Mel added.
Lizzie nodded and sighed.  “I know.  I just, well, I just, uh...” She couldn’t go on.  How could she say that more than anything she just wanted to go to Aunt La-La’s hotel and spend the day with her? That she knew it would be much more fun than a day at school?  She couldn’t.
“You just WHAT?” Dom asked, trying to keep his voice steady.  He was glad he had had a night to sleep on this, but he was still pretty upset by the little girl’s actions.
The tears started flying out of Lizzie’s eyes before she could stop them.  She knew that Dom and Lin were really mad at her.  She didn’t know what to say to make things better.
Lin sat down and pulled Lizzie into her lap.  “Sweetie, listen to me.  Just cause your uncle and I aren’t happy with what you did today doesn’t mean we don’t love you.”
Lizzie nodded.  “I know.”  She stopped and thought about something.  “And just cuz I did those naughty things don’t mean I don’t love you too.”
Melinda smiled.  “Oh, I know.”
Lizzie glanced at Dominic.  He was sitting in his chair staring at her.  Lizzie knew she needed to say something.  “Would it help if I sayed I was sorry, sir?”
“It always helps,” he stated.
“Then I’s sorry!” Lizzie cried, looking down at her feet.
Dom reached over and lifted Lizzie’s chin so that she was looking right at him.  “I want to know what you were thinking of when you decided to skip school yesterday, sneak away from the bus stop, and lie to your aunt, not to mention, worry your sister half to death?”
Putting everything she had done all together like that sounded bad, even to Lizzie.  She shrugged and said, “I don’t know, sir, it just seemed like fun at the time.  I guess I wasn’t thinking very good.”
“No, I don’t think you were.”  Dom stood up and looked down at the little girl.  “You deliberately lied to me and your sister yesterday morning.  You pretended to go off to school, when you KNEW you were going to come right back home.  That means you plotted all this, Elizabeth.  And you were home by yourself for close to an hour.  That is absolutely unacceptable!”
Lizzie jumped.  She bit her lip.  Dom had to walk away.  He had gotten himself mad again.  He knew that was not the way to be when he had to punish Lizzie.  He needed to calm down.  “I think you should go stand in the corner for a few minutes.”
Dominic pointed to the corner.  Lizzie looked at Melinda.  She nodded.  Lizzie walked there slowly.  Dom went into the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water.  He drank it slowly.
When he was calm, he came back.  He heard Lizzie and Mel talking.  “I’s sorry, Lin, I wasn’t thinking!” she cried.
“Well, you’ll have plenty of time to think this weekend, Lizzie.  You’re grounded.”
“Gr-grounded? All Weekend?”
“Yes,” Dominic said.  Lizzie turned around and saw her uncle.  She looked at her sister.  “It’s okay,” he said.  Usually Lizzie was not allowed to talk while she was in the corner, but since it was Mel who was talking to her, it was all right.  “But no TV, no computer, no nothing this weekend, Elizabeth.  And maybe by Monday you’ll be able to sit again.”
Lizzie sighed.  She knew he was exaggerating a little, but probably not by much.  “I’s sorrrrry!” she cried.
“We know you are, kiddo, but that doesn’t excuse what you did,” Melinda said.
“No, not at all,” Dom said.
Melinda added, “We love you but you know better and we can't let you do things that you know are naughty.”
“You’s really spointed in me?” Lizzie asked her sister.
Lin nodded slowly.  “Yes, sweetie, we are.”
“Very much so, Elizabeth, more than I have ever been,” Dom said sadly.
Lizzie started to sob really hard.  This was the worst part, disappointing them.  She turned away and just cried.
Melinda got up and got Lizzie a tissue.  “One thing I don’t think you even thought of is that you are too young to stay home alone in the first place,” Melinda said.  “It’s dangerous.  Whether you’re doing it for one hour or for four hours.  If anything had happened to you, we wouldn’t have been able to come help you because we wouldn’t have known you were here.”
Lizzie hadn’t thought about that.  All she had thought about was doing what she wanted to.
Dominic crooked his finger at Lizzie.  She got up and slowly walked over to him.  He reached down and pulled her pants and panties down and lifted her up and put her over his knee.
“You know you had no business staying home from school yesterday, Lizzie,” he began.  He raised his hand and brought it down on her bottom very hard.
{SMACK!}
Lizzie jumped.  She always did at that first hard smack.
“You can’t {SMACK! SMACK!} just decide {SMACK! SMACK!} to stay home.  {SMACK! SMACK!} And you can’t {SMACK! SMACK!} be home alone {SMACK! SMACK!} like that; too many bad things {SMACK! SMACK!} could happen!” Dom scolded.
{SMACK! SMACK!} {SMACK! SMACK!} {SMACK! SMACK!}
“Owwwwwwwww!” she cried.  Melinda turned away.  She knew Lizzie needed this but it was difficult to watch.  Lizzie was crying and feeling terrible inside.
“I’m not happy {SMACK! SMACK!} that you plotted {SMACK! SMACK!} this all out, Elizabeth.  {SMACK! SMACK!} By doing that, you lied to both your sister and me, {SMACK! SMACK!} and also to Aunt La-La.  {SMACK! SMACK!} She didn’t know {SMACK! SMACK!} you didn’t have permission {SMACK! SMACK!} to be there.” {SMACK! SMACK!}
“Owwwwwwwww, yessssssssir, I’s sorrrrrrrrrry!” Lizzie cried.  Just when she didn’t think it could get worse, she saw something out of the corner of her eye.
It was a wooden hairbrush.  Even Melinda bit her lip and looked away again when Dominic raised it.  Lizzie saw it before she felt it and yelled out, “Noooooo, pleeeeeeeeeease!”
But Dom ignored the little girl’s pleas and brought it down on her bottom over and over again.  {Whack! Whack!} {Whack! Whack!} {Whack! Whack!}
“Not only did you skip school and stay home alone, {Whack! Whack!} but you plotted {Whack! Whack!} and lied to us. {Whack! Whack!}  You also lied {Whack! Whack!} to the school by not going.  {Whack! Whack!} Tomorrow when you’re feeling a little better, {Whack! Whack!} you will write a letter to Mrs. Foxxe {Whack! Whack!} telling her what you did {Whack! Whack!} and that you were punished for it.”
Lizzie was in too much pain to hear what her uncle was saying.  But later, she would be mortified at having to write that letter.  She knew her teacher would be very unhappy and probably punish her some way, at school, too.
“Owwwwwwwww, I’sssssss sorrry! Pleeeeeeeeeeease stoppppppppppp!  I won’t do it again!” Lizzie sobbed.
“I’m going to make sure of that,” Dom said, raising the hairbrush a few more times and aiming for Lizzie’s sit spot.  He would make sure she didn’t sit for a few hours, at least.  He wanted this lesson to sink in so that nothing like it ever happened again.
{Whack! Whack!} {Whack! Whack!} {Whack! Whack!}
Melinda cringed for her sister’s bottom.  She realized she was crying, too.
Finally, Dom put down the hairbrush.  He picked the little girl up and put her so that she was kneeling on his lap.  She hugged him hard and began to sob on his shoulder.  “I’sssssss s-s-sorrrrrrrrrrry!” she cried.
“I know, sweetie,” Dom said soothingly.  He knew he had been especially rough on her, but he felt that he had to.
Lizzie reached back and rubbed her bottom.  It hurt so much.  Melinda rubbed her sister’s back as she kneeled on Dom’s lap.  Dom kissed Lizzie’s cheek and smiled.
She was surprised.  “You f-forgive me?” she choked.
“Of course I forgive you,” he said, hugging her tight.  She hugged him back real tight.  Melinda got in on the hug and the three of them sat that way for a long time, hugging and rubbing and soothing, and sniffling.
It would be a long time, if ever, til Lizzie would be this naughty again.
The end.
