Playing Games...a
Megan and “Little One” story (M/ff)
(c) 2000 by
Kayley, D Landhill, and Sampast
Don and Kyle had
been friends for the longest time. It
seemed only natural that their girls would be friends. Kyle and Kayley had invited Don and Denise
and Sammie over for dinner on Saturday night.
They barbequed out
back and the adults just smiled to see the two girls playing around in the
yard. The grown-ups had chicken and
steak to eat, while the girls had hot dogs.
After dinner, the
adults went inside to clean up and have “adult talk” and Megan and Sammie were
sent up to Megan’s room to play.
Sammie looked
around Megan’s room. “You gots lots of
games, Megs, which one do you wanna play?” she asked.
Megan thought
about it. “How ‘bout Candyland?”
“Yeah, that's a
good game,” Sammie said with a smile. “Can
I be the girl with the black hair?”
“Uh huh,” Megan
answered, “I wanna be the red one anyways.”
Sammie helped
Megan get the game down from the shelf.
They set it down on the floor between them. Opening the box, Megan took out the pieces.
They started to
play. After a while, Sammie stopped and
said, “You know, I always think this game should have dice. You got any games with dice, Megs?”
Megan wasn’t
sure. She took down the game, Pretty
Pretty Princess and looked through the box.
“Nope, no dice.”
Sammie looked up
and pointed to a red box. “How ‘bout
that one?”
The two girls took
down the game. It was Monopoly,
Jr. Megan looked inside. “Yep, this one has dice, and it’s got
moneys, too.”
Sammie
smiled. “Okay, let's use the money, too.”
Megan took all the
paper money out and spread them out in front of them. The floor was getting quite cluttered now.
Sammie started to
move all the pieces around. “Let's say
that if you go forward, you get money, k?”
Megan nodded. “Okay, I likes the moneys.”
They played this
way for a bit and then Megan stopped.
“I wonder if you can spend ‘em.”
Sammie looked at
her friend. “What d’ya mean?”
Megan held up the
toy money. “Can you spend these moneys
at the store?”
Megan looked at Sammie,
who shook her head. “I don't think
so. They's not real. But we can try one day.”
“Okay,” Megan
said, nodding. Then they went back to
the game.
Sammie was getting
bored. She started looking around. She looked up and saw a yellow box on the top
shelf. “Hey, Megs, what's that game?”
Megan looked up at
the other games. She stood on her tippy
toes to try to reach it. Upon doing
this, all the games on the shelf toppled over.
They made a big crash.
The two girls
looked at each other. Sammie said, “Uh
oh.” Megan said, “I hope the growdups
didn’t hear that.”
But they did. Kyle yelled up the stairs, “Girls! What's going on up there?”
Megan opened her
door and went to the top of the stairs.
“Nuffin, Daddy, we just dropped a game!” she called down. She hoped that would satisfy him. She went back into her room and stared at
the huge mess.
Sammie was looking
at it, too. She had an idea that would
get them out of cleaning up all the games.
“You know what we could do, Megs?”
Megan shook her
head. “No, what?”
“We could take the
pieces outta each game and make it part of this game,” Sammie suggested,
pointing to the game that was already in progress.
Megan’s eyes lit
up. “Good idea!” she said.
Just then Sammie
heard her dad calling, “Samantha, we're going to go soon.”
She ran to the top
of the stairs and looked down. Don was
standing there looking up at her. “But
Daddy, we're in the middle of a game.”
“Okay, little one,
a few more minutes,” he said, walking away.
He went back to Denise, Kayley, and Kyle and soon the four of them were
involved in another long boring adult conversation.
Sammie went back
to Meggie’s room and watched as she removed the pieces from each game. She sat back down on the floor and
helped. Soon they had all the pieces
from all of Megan’s games scattered on the floor in front of them.
Megan was piling
them up on the Candyland board. They
continued to play, making up rules about each piece as they went along. They were having so much fun; they didn’t
realize how late it was getting. They
were so absorbed in the game that they didn’t hear their parents calling them.
Suddenly Sammie
stopped playing. Megan looked at her
friend. She had completely forgotten
about the adults and the mess they had made in her room. “What is it, Sammie?” she asked.
“Listen.” They both listened. They heard footsteps on the stairs. Sammie looked at Megan. “Uh oh, what're we gonna do?”
Megan looked
around at the big mess, almost like she was seeing it for the first time, and
understood that they were definitely going to be in trouble if their parents
saw. She looked around wildly. Megan caught Sammie’s eye. “Under the bed?”
Sammie
nodded. “Yeah, that’s good.”
They started
pushing and shoving all the pieces of the different games under the bed. They managed to fit the Candyland board and
most of the pieces under, but the boxes didn’t fit.
There was a knock
at the door. Sammie looked at Megan and
whispered, “Now what?”
Meggie jumped up
and grabbed the blanket off her bed and tossed it over the boxes. She sat back down with a smile, just as Kyle
opened the door.
“Hi, Daddy,” she
said as he stepped cautiously into the room.
Shyly, Sammie
said, “Hi, Uncle Kyle.” She hoped he
wouldn’t notice the huge bundle in the middle of the room, with the blanket
tossed carelessly over it. Sammie could
just see the edge of Monopoly, Jr. sticking out in one corner, and hoped
Meggie’s daddy didn’t see.
Kyle walked in and
looked around. Then he looked down at
the two girls. “What are you
doing?”
Very nonchalantly,
Megan answered, “We's playin.”
“Yeah, we's
playing,” Sammie echoed.
Kyle nodded. “What's under the blanket?” he asked.
Megan said,
“Ummmm, nuffin.”
Sammie jumped up when
she saw Kyle reach for the blanket. She
tried to block him from looking. Sammie
looked at Megan. Meggie looked back at
her helplessly.
The two girls
watched as Kyle lifted up the blanket.
“What are all these games doing here?”
Megan smiled up at
him innocently. “Maybe we kinda need to
pick up a lil, Daddy?”
Kyle didn’t
answer. He looked at the two
girls. They looked toward the bed and
then quickly away. But Kyle noticed. He kneeled down and looked under. When he stood up again, he was shaking his
head.
Meggie could tell
that her daddy was mad about the games being all out. She started to whine, “We was jusss playyyyyyin!”
Kyle said,
“There’s a big fat mess, here, Megan Elise.”
Meggie just pouted.
Frowning, Kyle
said, “Sammie, your parents are ready to leave. I am going to give you fifteen minutes to clean all of this
up. You’d both better hurry.”
He walked out of
the room, closing the door behind him.
Kyle went downstairs and told Kayley, Don and Denise that the girls needed
a bit more time to clean up. He
underestimated how much time they would really need.
Sammie looked at
Megan. “Now what?”
Meggie looked at
the mess. She pouted. “I guess we gots to clean it up.”
Sammie joined her
in pouting. “How we gonna do that?”
Megan
shrugged. “I dunno.....that’s a BIG
mess!” she said, surveying the room.
Sammie
nodded. Then she had another brilliant
idea. “What if we were to just put it
all in one box?”
“Is there a big
enough one?” Meggie asked, starting to dig through all the boxes.
Sammie grabbed a
big box and held it up for Meggie to see.
“How ‘bout this one?”
Meggie nodded and
started stuffing stuff into it.
They both jumped
when Don yelled up the stairs, “Girls, five minutes!”
Megan started stuffing
faster.
Sammie frowned as
she tried to jam the box closed. “It’s
not all fitting.”
Meggie thought
about the situation. She opened up her
toy box and started shoving game pieces in.
Sammie started to help, just as the door opened.
This time, both
Kyle and Don stood in the doorway. Kyle
walked in and looked around and assessed what was going on. “This is not what I meant by cleaning up,
young ladies,” he said sternly.
Megan didn’t know
what to say. She tried, “Uh hi,
Daddy.”
Sammie gulped and
said, “Yeah, uh, Hi, Uncle Kyle.”
Kyle didn’t
answer. He just looked down at the two
girls. “We cleaneded it, Daddy,” Megan
said.
Sammie looked at
her daddy. He frowned. “Well, we did clean, Daddy,” she said.
Don said, “Then I
hate to think of what it was like when you started, little one. Look at all this. How many games did you have out, anyway?”
It was as if Megan
and Kyle weren’t in the room anymore.
Sammie looked up at her daddy, and started to pout. “But Daddy, they fell!” she whined.
“Don’t whine,
Samantha. Now, when did they fall? And
how?” he asked.
Sammie seemed to
think about it. She looked over at
Meggie, but she was deep in a conversation with her own daddy. “Ummm, a while ago. I ast Meggie what that yellow box was; it
was on the top shelf, and when she reached for it, they all came tumbling
down.”
Don pursed his
lips. “I see, that was when you said
that you dropped 'a game’. That was
about 45 minutes ago or more. Did you start
cleaning up the games that fell right away?”
Again, Sammie
looked over at Megan and then down at the floor. “No sir. I had a better
idea, but I guess now thinking back, it wasn't such a good idea.”
“What better
idea?” Don asked.
“Um, to play with
all the pieces of all the games,” Sammie answered.
“I see. Did you think about how long that would take
to clean up?”
Sammie shook her
head no. At this time, Kyle took Don
aside and told him what he thought they should do about the situation. Don nodded in agreement and turned to face
the girls.
“Samantha, Megan,
we are going to put all these games, just like they are, in a bag in the guest
room. Tomorrow, you will come back
here, Samantha, and the two of you will put all the games away properly. And then each of you will loose several
games for three days, as a reminder to play more carefully. Now Samantha, we will go home where you and
I will have a "talk" about this.”
Sammie looked at
Meggie. Both of them looked very
sorry. Sammie looked down then, knowing
that her idea of “talk”, and her daddy’s idea, were very different. “Yes, Daddy,” she said quietly.
Megan and Sammie
were quiet as they watched their daddies pick up all the game pieces and the
boxes and move them into the guest room, where they wouldn’t get stepped on or
lost.
Don held his hand
out for Sammie’s. “Say goodbye to
Megan, and let’s go,” he said.
Sammie hugged
Meggie and said, “Bye, Megs, I guess I’ll see ya tomorrow.”
Megan just
nodded. She looked down. She didn’t want to face her daddy’s gaze
just then.
Don led Sammie
downstairs where she said good night to Aunt Kayley. She took Mommy’s hand and followed Daddy to the car.
In the car on the
way home, Don filled Denise in on what had gone on upstairs. Denise turned to Sammie who was sitting in
the back seat, and said, “Samantha, I am very disappointed in you. You know that games must be cleaned up
before it is time to go.”
Trying not to whine,
Sammie answered, “We tried, Mommy, but there were too many!”
"Then you
should have started sooner, or called for help,” Don said.
The rest of the
drive home was quiet. Sammie knew what
to expect when she got home. They
pulled into the driveway. Don turned
off the car and started to get out.
"Samantha,
please go up to your room and wait in the corner. We will be up in a few minutes.”
“Yes, Daddy,”
Sammie said, pouting.
After about ten
minutes, Don and Denise went into Sammie’s room, where she was waiting in the
corner. “Turn around,” Don said. She did.
"Do you understand what the problem was today, Samantha?"
Sammie nodded and
very quietly said, “Me and Meggie made a big mess, Daddy?”
Don nodded
slowly. “Yes, that is part of it. And when you were told to clean up, you
tried to just shove it away and hide it.”
“But Daddy, we
couldn't do it...we didn't want to not listen,” Sammie said, trying to defend
herself and Megan.
“Okay, but when
the games fell, you just kept on playing for half an hour or more, didn't
you? You knew there was a mess and you
made it worse by playing with all the games at once, instead of stopping to
pick up what fell, right?”
“Kinda. We wanted to use all the pieces,” Sammie
said.
Don shook his head. “Well, it is okay to use more than one game
if you want to, but if there is extra stuff out then you need to allow extra
time to put it away, and when the games fell, you could have asked for help. Then you wouldn't be in trouble now. Why didn't you? Why did you say that only ‘a game’ fell when we asked what
happened?”
It made so much
sense to Sammie now. She had no idea
why they had done what they did. She
shrugged. “I'm not sure, Daddy. I guess I thought we'd be in trouble. Stupid, huh?”
“Well, if you
thought that, then you should at least have tried to make things right, not
waited until there was no time left.
The rule is you may play with any of your games, but things must be
picked up in good time. You didn't do
that, and you left a very big mess. So
you have a spanking coming.”
“But Daddy, that's
not fair!” Sammie cried.
“Oh? Why not?” Don asked, surprised.
Sammie looked at
her daddy and then at her mommy. She
tried to think of why it wasn’t fair. “Uh,
um, cuz, Meggie is little, and um, um, oh, I don't know!” she cried. She put her head into her daddy’s lap and
cried.
He hugged her
tight. “I'm sorry that you feel it is
unfair and that you are unhappy. But do
you understand the rule, Samantha?” he asked her quietly.
Still with her
head in his lap, Sammie nodded and said, “Yes, sir.”
Don lifted Sammie
up so that she was standing again, and made her face him. “Do you understand that you should have
asked for help, or started to clean up sooner, and not tried to hide the
problem? Hiding things usually makes
them worse.”
Very sorrily,
Sammie nodded. “Yes, Daddy, I sorry,
please don't spank me,” she tried.
Before Don could
answer, Denise piped up. “I'm sorry,
Samantha, but you broke the rule. You
have a spanking coming to help you to remember this rule from now
on."
Sammie just
nodded. Then her daddy said, “It is
time, Samantha.”
Already sitting on
her bed, Don reached down and pulled Sammie’s shorts and panties down and
lifted her over his lap. Denise handed
him her hairbrush, and he started to hand spank her.
{Crack} {Crack}{Crack}{Crack}{Crack}
Sammie kicked and
cried, “Ow, Daddy, why the brush? Waaaaah!”
{Crack}{Crack}
“Because I think you need the brush to make sure you remember this. {Crack} You
had a hard time {Crack} admitting that you did something wrong.” {Crack}
“Owwwwww, yes,
Daddddy! Waaaaaaah!” The brush hurt so much. Sammie was miserable.
But the spanking
continued. {Crack}{Crack} “You will not
{Crack} leave messes around. {Crack} When you play with Meggie or any of your
friends, {Crack} you will clean things up {Crack} before it is time to go.”
{Crack}
“Owwwww, okay,
Daddddy!” Sammie yelled, wiggling.
Denise leaned over and held Sammie firmly on her husband’s lap.
{Crack}{Crack}
“Where there is a bigger mess than you can handle, {Crack}{Crack} you will get
help right away.” {Crack}
“Yes, sir!” Sammie
uttered. “Waaaaaah!”
{Crack}{Crack} “You
will not {Crack} try to hide {Crack} problems from us.” {Crack}{Crack}
Sammie was beyond
tears. She just nodded, and sobbed.
{Crack}{Crack}{Crack}{Crack}{Crack}{Crack}
“All right, your spanking is over, little one.”
Don put down the
brush and started to rub Sammie’s bottom.
She just lay there continuing to sob.
Don pulled her to a kneeling position and let her cry over his shoulder. Denise leaned over and kissed Sammie’s face
and tried to wipe away her tears.
Sammie sniffled,
and said, “I sorry, Daddy, Mommy.”
“Okay, little
one,” Don said, in a soothing tone. “I
am sure that you have learned your lesson.
Now tomorrow, you and Megan will put all those games back together
right, okay?”
“Yes, sir,” Sammie
said, nodding.
There was a big
three-way hug. Sammie felt so loved
then. “There, there, little one,” Don
said again.
“I so sorrrrry!”
Sammie wailed.
“Well, you will do
better next time, won't you?” Don asked, pulling Sammie off his shoulder so
that she could look him in the face.
“Yes, Daddy.”
“That’s my good
girl,” he said, kissing her on the nose.
This made her smile.
Denise looked at
the clock. “I think it’s time for you
to get to bed, Samantha. It is
late. And you and Megan have a lot of
work to do tomorrow, don’t you?”
Sammie
nodded. “Yes, Mommy.” She got down from her daddy’s lap and
started getting ready for bed. After
all her routines, and a quick story from Mommy, Sammie laid down on her tummy
in bed. As she fell asleep, she thought
about what was happening at Meggie’s house.
~~~
Meggie watched Sam
and her parents leave, sadly. She
didn't want them to go. She and Sam had
been having fun before the mess happened but more than that, she didn't really
want to face her Daddy just yet.
Kyle had gone
downstairs to show Don and Denise out and give Kayley a hand in the
kitchen. "You, little lady, need
to sit in here and think about what happened tonight and how it could have been
avoided. I'll be up to talk to you in a
little while,” he'd said as he shut her door.
Meggie climbed
onto her bed and stared at the wall where her games usually were. She didn't know how Daddy could expect her
to think about how the problem could have been avoided. All she could think about was how to avoid the
spanking she knew was imminent.
Finally, after
about 15 minutes, Kyle came back upstairs.
Meggie looked up as he walked back into her room.
"Hi, Daddy,”
she said softly, looking back down. She
could tell by the look on his face that he was still not happy with her. She had hoped maybe he'd forget just this
one time.
"Hi,
baby. I think we have something we need
to talk about. Do you know why we are
having this discussion?" Kyle asked as he walked across Meggie's room and
sat down on the bed next to her. She
climbed up into his lap as soon as he sat down, out of habit.
"Cuz Sammie
and I maked a biiiiig mess wif my games."
"Yes, that’s
right. And when we asked you what
happened, what did you do?"
Megan thought
carefully. "We telled you that one game felled...not that all the games
felled. And we kept playin wif em
all."
Kyle nodded. It was important to him that she understood
why she got into trouble when she did.
Therefore, he always made her explain exactly where she had gone wrong. "Yes, you told us that you dropped a
game. One game. You didn't mention the
other ten. Is that telling the truth,
Megan?"
Meggie shook her
head. Kyle could see the realization
dawning on her why he was so upset with her.
"No Sir."
"What is that
then, Megan?"
"It’s a lie,”
she said softly. She knew that she was
in big trouble. Nothing upset her Daddy
like lying to him, whether it was on purpose or not. He hated it. She looked
up at him sadly. "I's sorry,
Daddy, I din't mean to lieee."
"Megan, don't
start whining. That is the last thing
that could possibly help you right now.
But you are right, you lied to me and so did Sammie. And I have an idea that Sammie and her Daddy
are having a very similar conversation right now, too. "
Meggie
nodded. Poor Sam. She hoped she wasn't having a similar
talk. "But Daddy, I didn't mean to
lie to you. I jus sayed it cuz I was
afraid you'd come upstairs and get all mad wif me bout the mess."
Kyle nodded. "So you knew that we wouldn't be happy
about the mess. But instead of picking
it up, you kept on playing with it and made it worse. That’s what I don't understand, Megan. You know that I would have helped you clean up rather than have
you create that huge mess."
Meggie nodded
again. "But we woulda had to stop
playin."
Kyle nodded then,
understanding. One thing about little
kids, he thought, they tell it like it is.
"Megan, I
think you know what is going to happen.
And I also think you know why it’s going to happen, don't
you?" He looked down at his tiny
daughter. She stared at her sneakers intently and nodded. "Okay, then," he said.
With that, he sat
her down on the floor in front of him and started unsnapping her overalls. Megan didn't move to help him but she didn’t
fight him either. Her overalls off, he
pulled her panties off and her over his lap in one motion.
"I's
sorrrrrrry!!!" she shrieked.
He ignored her
plea and raised his hand. He brought it
down with a resounding Smack!! She
jumped and started to cry immediately; more from the shock than the pain.
{Smack!!} {Smack!!} {Smack!!}
"You will
{Smack!!} not lie {Smack!!} to me {Smack!!} or hide it from me {Smack!!} when
you need {Smack!!} my help. {Smack!!} {Smack!!} When {Smack!!} any other
{Smack!!} adult or I asks you {Smack!!} a question, {Smack!!} you will
{Smack!!} answer it honestly. {Smack!!} You will not {Smack!!} make huge messes
{Smack!!} just because {Smack!!} you didn't want your playtime {Smack!!}
interrupted. Do {Smack!!} you {Smack!!}
understand {Smack!!} me? {Smack!!} {Smack!!} "
"Yesssssssssssss!"
Megan sobbed desperately. She managed
to keep from reaching back or trying to escape but he could tell she had taken
all she could.
He stopped and
rubbed her little back while she sobbed for a minute. Once she sounded like she was calming down some, he turned her
around and pulled her to his chest. "Shhhhhh, sweetie, it’s OK now. It’s all over. It’s OK,” he soothed.
"I's sorry I
lied, Daddddddddy. I j-jus wanted to
play so much. And I w-was havin so m-much fun,” she cried
into his chest.
"I know,
baby, I know. It’s all right now. I'm not mad at you. It’s all OK. I'm glad that you took your
spanking like a big girl and didn't fight with me. I'm very proud of you."
She calmed down
some then and rested her head on his shoulder, thumb in mouth. Somehow hearing that he was proud of her and
not mad, made all the difference in the world to her. She snuggled close and rested.
"I love you,
sweet pea," Kyle whispered to her as he sat and watched her eyes drifting
closed. Half awake, she responded with
an "I love you, too," before she totally passed out. Kyle laid her down and tucked her in gently.
She had a long day ahead of her tomorrow; she'd need her rest.
~~~~~~
Don dropped Sammie
off at Megan’s house the next day at ten a.m.
He went off to do errands, while Kyle and Kayley supervised the clean
up. Actually, they brought all the games
and all the pieces back into Megan’s room, closed the door, and went
downstairs.
The girls knew
better than to do any playing. They
were told they had exactly two hours to put the games back together
correctly. At 12:00, they would have
lunch and then Sammie would go home.
Most likely, both of them would take naps then. Megan would, definitely.
Megan and Sammie
barely talked to each other the whole two hours, except to say things like,
“Does this go in that game?” or “Isn’t this a Monopoly piece, too?”
At 12:00, Kyle
came back upstairs and peeked into Megan’s room. He watched as Sammie stood up on Megan’s desk chair and put the
last of the games on the shelf. He
smiled.
He came into the
room and looked around. “Wow, you girls
sure did a great job!”
Sammie got down
off the chair and smiled. “Thanks,
Uncle Kyle. We worked hard.”
“I see that. I would have helped you put the games back
on the shelf, though. You shouldn’t be
standing on chairs, Sammie.”
Sammie looked
down. “I’m sorry. We just wanted to do it all by ourselves.”
“Yeah, Daddy, so
you’d be proud!” Meggie said, quietly.
Kyle looked down
at the two girls. He lifted Sammie’s
head in his hand and smiled. Then he
sat down on the desk chair and pulled the two girls in for a big hug.
“Oh, I am very
proud. Very proud, indeed.”
The end.
