License and Registration
Maddie would never forget the look on Mark's face when he opened
the door after having heard the doorbell. He was so surprised to see that
a police officer was at the door.
Maddie slipped right inside and threw her arms around Mark. She was just
happy to be home.
"Maddie, what happened?" Mark asked, enveloping her in a
giant bear hug.
"I had a little accident, but I'm okay, and the car is mostly
okay."
Mark hugged Maddie tight to him. "Well, I'm glad you're
all right." He then turned his attention to the police officer and
of course invited him in. "Officer? Was there much damage to the
car? Did you have to drive my wife home?"
Maddie stood to Mark's side. The cop put out his hand to
Mark's and they shook. "Hi, Mr. Adams, I'm Officer Jamison. I
followed your wife home; I think your car will be fine." He then
looked over at Maddie and she cleared her throat.
"I'll be right back, hon, I need to get something for the
officer." She ran up the stairs, not all that happy that the
policeman would be telling Mark the whole story. She knew for a fact that she
was going to be in major big trouble, so she took her time getting what she
needed.
As soon as Maddie left the room, Mark looked at the cop and waited
for some explanation. He didn't leave Mark wondering too long.
"Your wife left her license and registration at home." He let
that sink in and then added, "She really should carry them at all
times."
Mark stared at this man. "She left her..." he
stopped, not wanting to repeat the man's words. "You mean she didn't
have her license with her, when she was driving?" Mark asked, hardly able
to believe it.
"Yes, that's right, sir. I make my wife keep that in
her wallet."
Mark gritted his teeth and said calmly, "Yes, of
course. You may be sure we will discuss the matter, Officer." Mark
wasn't sure, but he thought that the officer might have winked at him when he
said that. But when Mark looked back, Officer Jamison had a blank look on
his face.
Just then Maddie came down the stairs. She had the license
and registration in her hands and she proffered them to Officer Jamison.
He took the items from her and made some notes on his clipboard. Mark
took a few deep breaths; he was very angry and knew he would need to calm down
some before he dealt with this.
"Is there a ticket, Officer?" he asked, watching Officer
Jamison jotting down notes.
"No, no. As long as she was able to produce them, it's
fine. You're allowed 24 hours to do that. You might want to call
your insurance company, though, and let them know about the damage."
"Yes, we will let our insurance agent know. Thank you
again, very much," Mark said, putting out his hand again.
The policeman shook it and said, "You may be getting a call
from the other car's driver, but I'm not sure. It didn't seem to be your
wife's fault." Officer Jamison tipped his hat towards Maddie and
said, "Good day to you. Be careful, Missy."
After Mark closed the door, he just LOOKed at Maddie.
"Madison Rose!" he said sternly. She stared at the floor.
She was dreading this conversation the whole ride home. "Don't you
recall that all drivers are supposed to have their license with them when
driving?"
Maddie backed up and started to walk away from Mark. She
could feel his eyes on her, and it felt as though they were burning a hole
right through her. "Um, y-yes, s-sir, but you see, I, uh..."
"Yes? This had better be good, Maddie," Mark said, hands
on hips, waiting. Maddie walked into the kitchen. "Come back
here, we aren't finished with this. I want your attention while we
discuss it. Now tell me."
Maddie turned back from the kitchen, and looked right at
Mark. She whispered, "I left my whole wallet at home by mistake,
sir."
Mark sighed. "And what about the registration, Madison?
Why wasn't that in the car?"
Maddie whined, "I don't know, sirrrrrrrr."
Mark reached Maddie's side in two steps and swatted her
bottom. "Madison Rose, what have I said about whining?"
"I'm sorry, sir." Maddie reached back to
rub. It hadn't been that hard a swat, and she knew she had more coming, but
that one had taken her by surprise. She walked to the refrigerator and
took out a water bottle. She twisted open the cap and took a long drink of
water. Mark waited. "I don't know why the registration wasn't
in there. I think the old one expired."
Mark was furious. "You mean that when I gave you the
new registration after I renewed it by mail, you didn't put it in the car when
I told you to? You mean to tell me, young lady, that we have been driving
without the registration in the car, for SIX WEEKS?"
Maddie put her hands to her ears. Her husband's voice had
risen ever so slightly. She felt like a small child. She stared at the
floor and said quietly, "Maybe."
"Maybe? Just where did you find the registration that
you just showed the officer?"
Maddie bit her lower lip. "It was on my dresser,
Mark. I knew where it was. I just, um, forgot to put it in the
car. I kept meaning to, I just forgot, um, sir," she added.
"You just forgot? Every day for six weeks? So if you
KNEW where it was, what did you mean by 'maybe' just now? Did that mean
'Yes, but I don't want to admit it'?"
Maddie just nodded, afraid to speak. "Please, Mark, I'm
sorry. Can't we just let this go this time? I'm a little shaken up from
the accident. I just want to go sit and relax."
Mark sat on the sofa and patted it. "Come sit here a
few minutes and catch your breath." Maddie came over and sunk into
the cushions. Mark put his big, strong arms around her and hugged her
tight to him. "I am so very glad that you're safe. I love you
so much."
"I love you too, Mark. And I'm sorry. The
accident wasn't my fault. This lady just came out of nowhere, and I
slammed on the brakes."
Mark nodded. "I understand and I accept that,
honey. It can happen to anyone, no matter how carefully they drive.
I'm okay about that, and everything will be okay." Mark held her
tightly to him.
"I'm glad you understand, hon," Maddie said, taking a
sip of water, and then sinking into him. Maddie closed her eyes and tried
to relax and calm down. After a few minutes, Maddie opened her eyes and
said, "So can I just go upstairs now? I'll take a warm bath. That'll
really relax me."
Mark looked down at his wife. "Well, I think 'we'
should go upstairs. Now that you are calmer, I think a reminder about a
few things is in order."
Maddie gulped. She had hoped Mark would forgo the lecture
and punishment, but she was wrong. "Please, sir, it was a rough
day. Please, Mark," she begged.
"And what lesson would I be teaching you if I let you off on
this because of a 'rough day', Maddie? Is it or is it not my role here to help
you keep on track?" he asked, as he ushered her up the stairs and to their
bedroom.
Maddie nodded her head. "Yessir, I know you need to
teach me a lesson." Maddie knew that she needed Mark to keep her in
line, but every once in a while, she tried to get out of her punishments, as if
she were a kid again.
Mark stood Maddie in front of him and looked directly at
her. "Maddie, it is important that when I ask you to do something,
for a good reason, and you agree, that you do it, isn't it?"
"Yessir," Maddie said, looking down at her feet. She
felt ashamed of herself and started to cry. "I know I was
wrong. I should have put the registration in the car when you first gave
it to me. I don't know why I kept putting it off. I'm sorry,
Mark."
"You will be, young lady. And Madison Rose, when you have
screwed up on something, and I ask you about it, what should you do?"
Maddie gulped. "Tell the truth, right away, sir,"
she cried, throwing herself at her husband. "Oh, please don't hate
me, sir. I'm so sorry."
Mark hugged her tightly. "Oh, don't worry Maddie, I
love you. I am just going to remind you to be your better self."
"Yes, sir. I know I need that sometimes," Maddie
admitted.
Mark nodded and looked right into his wife's face, lifting her
chin. "And I think you need it badly right now, young lady, don't
you?" he asked her calmly.
Maddie nodded. "Yessir, please punish me for messing
up, sir."
"I will do exactly that, Madison, and then I hope nothing
like this comes up for a while."
"I hope so too, sir."
"Now get yourself ready, young lady," Mark said
sternly. He watched her as he pulled his desk chair away from his desk,
and put it in the middle of their bedroom.
Maddie took off her slacks, folded them, and placed them on the
bed. She slid down her panties and stepped out of them. Then she
went to stand by his right side, as soon as she saw he was seated. She
looked at him and then before either could say a word, she lay over his
lap. Her voice caught a little as she pronounced, "I'm ready,
sir."
Mark praised her. "Good girl."
Maddie clenched waiting for what she knew was coming. Mark
looked at the hairbrush he had waiting to use, but for now he just raised his
hand and brought it down hard on her bottom. Maddie jumped as soon as
flesh met flesh as it had been a while since her last spanking.
{Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!}
{Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!} {Smack!}
Mark held Maddie still by putting his left arm on her waist, as he
thundered down his right hand, over and over again. Maddie tried to stay
still as the spanks rained down. She started to cry, more because she
disappointed Mark, than because it hurt.
{Smack!} {Smack!} "Madison, {Smack!} {Smack!} I depend on you
{Smack!} to do {Smack!} as you say {Smack!} you will." {Smack!} {Smack!}
"Oowww yesssssssssir!"
{Smack!} {Smack!} "And above all, {Smack!} I depend on you
{Smack!} {Smack!} to be fully {Smack!} {Smack!} honest with me." {Smack!}
{Smack!}
Maddie cried harder knowing she had further disappointed
Mark. She lay still and took her spanking without any more
wiggling. Her bottom was on fire already but Maddie knew it was far from
over.
Mark then picked up the hairbrush. {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!}
{CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!}
"Oowwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" Maddie screamed, feeling the different effects
of the hairbrush.
Mark continued spanking Maddie with the hairbrush and lecturing
her at the same time. {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} "Honesty is vital,
{CRACKK!} Madison Rose. {CRACKK!} It keeps us together." {CRACKK!}
{CRACKK!}
"Yesssssssir, I know, I'm so very sorrrrrrry," Maddie
cried. She had never felt more ashamed and disappointed with herself as
she did at that very moment.
{CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} "I have to depend on you,
{CRACKK!} Madison, {CRACKK!} just as you {CRACKK!}{CRACKK!} can depend
{CRACKK!} on {CRACKK!} me." {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!}
Even though it was hard to concentrate, as each smack hit her
bottom, Maddie took in every word Mark said, and vowed that she would do better
from then on.
{CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} "Not having your license was bad enough;
{CRACKK!} that violates {CRACKK!} the law {CRACKK!} and could mean
{CRACKK!} an expensive ticket. {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!}
{CRACKK!} But not doing what you say you will {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} violates our
agreements {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} and that {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} is far worse."
{CRACKK!} {CRACKK!} {CRACKK!}
Maggie was crying so hard no sound was coming out, but she managed
to croak, "I'm so sorry, Mark."
"All right, Maddie, have I made my point?"
"Yessirrrrrrr!" Maddie sobbed and sobbed. Then she
said again, "I'm so sorry, I will carry my license from now on. I
will keep the registration in the car. I'm so sorry!"
"Good girl. I know you are, Maddie. Just
remember, you need to have ID in today's world, Maddie. You can't forget
your wallet. You had no money or credit cards or your Triple A
card. What if you had needed something?"
"I didn't think of that, sir," she said, tears streaming
down her face. She was still lying over his lap, and she wondered if he
would pick up that dreadful hairbrush again, or worse, get her paddle.
"I traded pocketbooks and I just forgot to put it in. I was
careless; I'm sorry, sir."
"You may get up when you are ready, Maddie, and then a few
minutes in the corner and this will all be over, and all forgiven."
Maddie sniffled and stood up. She wanted to rub so badly, but knew
she couldn't until her corner time was over. Rubbing in the corner meant
an extra, harder spanking. She looked back over her shoulder at him from the
corner and said, "I really disappointed you this time, didn't I,
Mark?"
"Well, yes, love. But we dealt with it and I'm sure you
will do better from now on."
Yes, Mark, I will, I promise," Maddie said, putting her nose
in the corner. She thought about what she had done that day, and about
how she had been punished. She didn't ever want to do anything like this
again. Far worse than having disappointed herself with her stupid
behavior, she had disappointed Mark, and that made her feel just terrible.
After several minutes in the corner, Mark said, "Maddie, you
may come out of the corner." Maddie ran into Mark's arms as he
encircled them around her. "I forgive you."
She buried her head into him and just cried. Mark held her
tight and tried to comfort her. For the hundredth time, Maddie said,
"I'm so sorry."
"I know you are, Maddie, and I know you will do better."
"I love you, Mark."
"And I love you, Madison Rose. And everything will be just
fine with us."
Maddie smiled and held on tight. She hoped she would never
do anything again that would get her in this much trouble. But she knew
that was wishful thinking. She just hoped she acted smart about it
another time.
The end.
