| Money, Riches, and Greed |
| This is one of the most touchy subjects, but it shouldn't be. So many people get offended, so many just wont believe no matter how many times you show them in scripture. Satin has a way of twisting their minds to make them believe that they are right in their way of thinking. Yet the Bible is very clear on this subject. I have studied a lot more complex discussions then on money. If we are rich, we will twist and twist til it comes out how we want it to sound, if we are poor we will make it condem the rich. So what is right and what is wrong. All we can do is do as the Bible tells us too as it is Gods word and law. First of all it's not a sin to be rich. Then what is the argument about? There were rich men in the Bible. They were men of God. First lets look at the rich men in the Bible, or the christians, God blessed them to help others, start new nations. They used their wealth for possitive purposes, not to sit on it and hoard it. Today we have two people who's kids are grown and gone, they have more money than they know what to do with and live in 5 bedroom homes, two story, decked out mansions. Why? to show off their achievments in life? They buy the most expensive cars, eat at the finest dining facilities and on and on. Now let a poor person come up to them and ask for money to feed his kids. They wouldn't get a dime. We again believe we are above Gods word, because we are Americans, just like we think we are better than all other countries. Americans are very vein. We are a christian socity overall because we have developed churches to suite our life styles. We put down other countries but one thing they have that we don't is union. Their religion may be wrong, but all men in that country are dedicated to it and it's all the same. As Americans, if the Bibles says it's a sin to be rich then the Bible is wrong.. I know noone thinks of themselves in this catagory becuase we never put a limit on enough. I know people personally, they came from very little, struggled everyday to get by. This person was overall a fantastic person, everyone enjoyed their company. They were never happy inside though, always wanting more and more. They would work two jobs if need be to get better things than other people. They kept climbing in jobs to higher paying jobs and Their personality slowly changed, new job, now need a new car, Someone in my position can't live in average houses, need bigger nicer house. Another new job more money, need a new car. The need to feel important is so overwhelming that it drives a person to miserable town, Not only for themsleves but for others around them. If you were to ask them today why they do it, they will tell you, it's planning for the future, retirement, health, I have some good news, over 100 million people in the United States retire with out stressing themsleves out thru life. They just don't spend it all now and try to save at the same time, dosn't work. How can you say it's about the future, and you are spending as fast as you make it to be better than others. Is a brand new car neccessary and bigger more expensive house, you kids haveing everything they want. That's the greed that the Bible is talking about, we are slaves to money. We have to work because we have to live a life style so high. Thou show not covent, it's one of the ten commandments. It would really be worth the time to look at that verse very closly, get a dictionary study it. It will save your soul. Now the right way to look at things would be to save for your future home in Heaven, or the New Earth. When you die here on this earth, no one will remember you after a while, you wont take anything with you, and all that hard work is nothing anymore. Now time to wake up, that short 60- 70 years you lived here on earth is over. Now it's time to explain to Jesus Christ why you felt you were above God instructions, his word. It's easy to not think about now, we are so selfish, this world is an "all about me" world. The thought of Hell dosen't scare anyone anymore, we are so bad, Sodom and Gahmorah would be considered saints compared to us. No-one believes they are going to burn in hell, again, it's an American thing, I have been to Isreal they are constantly in prayer there, they want to make sure they are on the right track. We Americans if we don't have something to do sunday afternoon we might get up and go to Suday morning service, sit there, and we put our money in the offering in and now off til next Sunday morning . We did our weekly duty, to put on a show for the public, the rest of the week, we are cheating on our taxes, making money under the table, drinking, using drugs, speeding, cheating on our spouses, lusting after others, pre marital sex, putting down and making fun of others, trying to figure a way to become richer, buying lottery tickets, yes that's greed, wanting to win the lottery, its a desire to have something we don't really need. God knows what you need and will provide it for you. This list can go on and on but you get the point, we "Christians" forget all about God til the next Sunday morning just to do it all over again. |
